hey guys so i just bought a 1995 240sx S14 w=it has complete front and rear suspension upgrade as well as a R32 Lsd. i am planning on drifting the car alot:boink:, but i want a bit of feedback on these Lsd if they lock alot so i can use them for drifting. has anyone on this forum used them for drift events? and how was it compaired to a welded differential? should i just buy oem axles and buy a diff and have it welded? :duh: please give me your feedback.

GTST or GTR LSD. GTST is just a viscous diff, fine for on the cheap, chuck a couple of shims in and it'll do ok. GTR diffs are clutch type Mechanical 1.5 ways. If you were to chuck a set of Nismo clutches(Which are just the stock clutches/sring discs in a different pattern and cheaper than buying the parts direct from Nissan) Then it'll lock up pretty nicely. Just rebuilt one for a mate of mine and it's now very predictable and very easy to control.

Going to an aftermarket 2 way would be the best option for a drift setup but will cost a lot more.
Why would you replace your axles to run a welded diff? Like for like they're exactly the same. If you have a GTR diff and GTR shafts then you'l also have GTR hubs which have a thicker splined section for the outer CV so slightly stronger but still not much different.
