Little background: My first car i ever owned was a s13 hatchback, that was then converted to a s13.5, and i swapped in a redtop sr20, full exhaust, fmic, boost controller, etc. Just little things. Ran 10psi and i loved it. I was only 17. My dad and I did all the work. Never had any problems. I am now 22, and cant stop thinking about buyin another one. My only issue is i do not want to spend my whole summer building another one. I'd rather buy one that is decently built. So i need your thoughts on this one.
Its a 90 S13. Body is super clean, rust free. Black exterior with some sick red rotas. The thing is.... says he 'spun a bearing' :duh: and does not have time to fix i will put the mod list. I have him talked down to $4,300. I have about 6500 to spend, just curious if she is worth it!

4300 is a little steep for a 13 with a blown motor...

regardless the condition of the car, or whats in it, whats it worth to you? would you be happy paying 4 grand for a car that doesn't run? i probably wouldn't go a hair over 2,500 considering the amount of work that you are about to have to do.

I'd offer him 2500. And the shell would have to be very clean

Thats pretty steep, with all the mods. Be patient and wait for the right one. I just bought my LS1 s13 hatch for that price. Find a poor sucker who has dumped a bunch of money into his car, and now has ran into money problems and needs to sell lol

I'd find a different car to work on. Kinda get bored if doing the same chasis over again.
You're expecting to drop another $2500+ for motorwork again.
For that price, I'd rather get an MR2 turbo.

Agreed. I wouldn't pay more than $1500 for it honestly. It's a pain in the ass to pick up where someone else left off and when you buy a blown motor project they never tell you everything, you're going to run into more gremlins. Just find a KA 240sx in decent shape throw on coils and a welded diff and bam, FUN. That's what you do if you don't want to spend the time and money to build a more powerful car. Plus drifting or even gripping you learning to take less power to it's full potential will make you a better driver.

LOL
A worn out drift car with cheap ebay mods and a blown engine, and you are willing to pay 4300$ for it ? When you say you dont want to spend the whole summer to rebuild it ?
Dude, you are going to shell thousands of dollars at it, and it wont run properly before next summer, i can tell you that.
