I can't find any info. I have Super HICAS(a disease) and want to put on an aftermarket steering wheel.
Found a hub for it
Splash Works Bell 622 Boss Steering Wheel Hub Kit S13 HICAS (http://www.frsport.com/Splash-Works-Bell-622-Boss-Steering-Wheel-Hub-Kit-S13-HICAS_p_9271.html)
but I can't seem to find any info on anyone installing one, and if it works well or not.
Has anyone had any experience with this? Is there a better hub out there?

There isn't much info because people delete their HICAS system.

I can tell you first hand that unless you know how the install goes, you will have to figure it out yourself UNLESS you know how to read Japanese.

Anyway, I've had a Splash Works Bell non-HICAS hub installed in my car before. And it wasn't of cheap design. I would imagine it would be the same for their HICAS hub.

Simple as getting a hub that is labeled for HICAS, a non HICAS hub will not fit such as the NRG hub, you have the steering angle sensor that the hub will interfere with.

That's what I'd figure, but I came across a thread here

Guy says it doesn't fit, but I kind of doubt FRSport would keep selling a product that doesn't work as intended. I just want to know for sure before I fork over money

Any hub will work, I have a hicas car and use an NRG hub

There is so much misinformation that surrounds HICAS it's actually quite a shame. I bought the cheapest no name hub and steering wheel for my HICAS and it goes in just fine. You really just have to go in there and do it.

Wouldn't the sensor get in the way? All the hubs say non-hicas only. If they work 100% on both hicas and non-hicas models, I don't see why they would say non-hicas only.

And reading more on the 622 hub, says for HICAS 93-95. Mine is a 92. Also says for that use part 616, which I'm not finding.

My hub did not hit the sensor. The sensor is like a smaller hub that has the horn and cruise control on a plug. The hub will be able to go over that sensor and cover it.

I bought a cheapo hub and wheel and will see how it works before I buy the wheel I want.

Hey i know its an old thread just wondering how it worked out for you? I was in the same boat a while back. Bought a works bell 616 standard, frsport pn 027RB. worked out perfectly. everything went on fine everything works as normal. car is a 91 se with hicas and cruise control.
