View Full Version : How much does an LSD swap cost?

I found a guy here that will do a LSD swap for 900 cdn (600 US) and he takes my old differential.  Does this price sound right?  He's got a Z shop so he knows what he's doing too.

I don't know about labor, but depending on which diff you use and the subsequent parts needed (if any), parts cost should range anywhere from $300-600.

With a friend and a couple jacks, I hear it only takes like 2-3 hours.  
so $400 for the diff and $200 for labor.. sounds about right.  What would you do with your old differential?  Sell it... no one want's it anyway.

He says he has customers with older s13's that want it.  Whatever, I'd have no use for it anyway.  The other thing is, all the LSDs that I've found have been in NJ, Florida, etc, so I would need to pay for shipping.  He's got one in stock in my city, so I guess it probably is worth it, even if I have to pay for his labor

what city are you in? but yeah 600 sounds decent..for parts and labor...because not only are you gonna need the lsd diff but also the half axels for it and the labor to put it all in....you might think of opting for say a better lsd like a kaaz or cusco if you got the extra ends versus the stock vlsd's

hey , I am in Cali and I have a VLSD availible. Plus Don Nimi at PDM has one up for sale too. He is up in your neck of the woods.  lates

long story, i don't like don.

besides, the guy i know restores old Zs and I value his opinion much more. I would've liked to try the swap myself though....

we'll see. there aren't that many 240s around here so that lsd will be kicking around for a while.

i also found one in a junkyard, but the guy wants 750cdn (450US) which is just ridiculous. The guy has no idea what negotiating is.

if anyone out there has one for 350US or under, let me know
