View Full Version : RUCA hits coilovers

I'm running stance ruca's in the back of an s13 with pbm comp coilovers. Problem is that my stance ruca's hit the coilovers. It's pretty bad, the ruca sits on the collar and won't even let the entire coilover compress.

My question is, which brand would give me more clearance in RUCA design ?

PBM ? SPL ? Something else ?

post a picture, you might have frame damage, ive seen this before and it was frame damage that was already fixed, but the rotor/brakes/lower control arm was reinstalled a little closer towards the trunk , instead of the middle, the way you could tell is by looking at the caliper, it should be straight or slightly straight towards the door, if its angled upwords ,someone didn't align it correctly. The one I saw had adjustable arms except for the lower.

Definitely post a picture. There's nothing we can do but take wild guesses without actually seeing the situation.

You didn't put them on backwards did you? It's happened before.

Need to see pics for sure but could be the Stance RUCAs just don't have enough of a bend for clearance. I know my latest gen PBM RUCAs will clear just about anything but that's on a s14.

Shitty picture but you can see how the ruca hits the coilover. I need an other brand with a larger arch I think

Do you have them on the right side of the car? Do you have them going on the right side of the coil? Take the tire off and back up and take a pic, your pic is so close you can't tell shit other than its hitting.

Yeah, that's the worst pic EVER. We can't see shit except that it's hitting. Take a wider shot of the whole rear suspension with the tire off. You probably have it installed wrong...

Why are they so damn short? It looks like you'e got 2 million degrees of negative camber. The shock should be at least close to centered to the radius of the bend. It looks to me like your problem is the way you have them set-up. To run retard spec camber you'll probably need different RUCA's...

are you just trying to raise your post count or what?

as far as the topic..take a pic of your car on the ground with the wheels on...lol camber might be your issue

your coilover lower mount might be installed backwards causing it to sit closer to the spindle that it is supposed to

picture for what I am talking about

YOu've got the rod end section adjusted wrong. See the part the screws into the arm? Extend that out more which should push the assembly to a safe spot. Then use the rod end itself to adjust the rest up. Either way it should not be so 'short' sort to speak.

Update: the problem was the design of the Stance Rucas, after installing a set of SPL's everything cleared no problem.

Here's a pic for comparison, SPL on top and Stance below

False. If you did what Codyace mentioned by extending the spline it would have worked. Could have saved some cabbage too.

No, you're false. For this particular setup, the stance ruca was maxed out to be able to fit the wheels, extending the ruca would reduce the camber which is not what I'm looking for.

what size wheels and tire are you trying to fit?

18x10.5 +14 with 235/40 tires on stock metal with a roll, no pull

So you're trying to fit wheels that truthfully don't fit without any fender modifications. As a band-aid you're running what, like 4* of negative camber. That's clown shoes retarded. hEllAfLUsh yO!!! The problem was not the design of the RUCA's, the problem is your setup.

Whatever, to each their own I guess...
