I just changed the head gasket and removed emissions from my intake manifold etc. I put the car back together and the car started misfiring like crazy at idle and idled up and down between 900-1500, but runs hood when I open the throttle (no misfires).

New cap, rotor, plugs, plug wires, Cts, hg.

Well its kind of weird, electronics wise. The gauges don't light up unless I rev past 3-4k, and then they will stay lit up.

I found a better ground for my MAFs and the car idles around 950-1050now. I believe timing is on but I cannot really check it correctly since it is misfiring. I can rev the car through the rpm range with no misfiring until I hit idle. I rev up to 6k and let go of the gas pedal, the bov goes off, the car then wants to die (atm bov), then it will get back to idling at 950-1050 and slightly misfiring.

Wot afr = 11.2-11.8
Idle afr = 16-18
Boost gauge reads -3 to -5 at idle
No boost leaks
Turbo is rebuilt, No shaft play at all. Does smoke from exhaust side at wot.

So I'm wondering why it is misfiring and why my vac is so low.
Thanks for any help guys.

I don't have a KA-T but you idle problem sounds kind of like mine on my SR after I switched MAFS, I had a bad ground. you said you checked that but who knows, could be a rare case of a wire going bad. also when I did mine I was sure I had it right but I accidentally grounded the metalic sleeve for my MAF and not the actual wire inside, it was several inches sunk inside the sleeve.
