I just finished swapping out my old engine, for a rebuilt s13 engine straight from Japan. I was wondering if anyone knows where i can take my car to get smog checked in northern california, the closer to san jose the better. My friend said that most likely my car will not pass visual check because of the engine swap. Any help or pointers would be great!! :faint:

Yes very smart. Join a forum and make your first post about getting an illegal smog. Did you really expect people to point you towards their hookups. :jerkit:

I guess i just have to meet some peeps and hope i can find a way to smog my car. My previous car was an eclipse and it was a pain in the @$$ to get smog just because of the after market intake. I just moved from hawaii where we didnt have to deal with smog check.

But you did have to deal with recon.

Good luck from a fellow hawaii-an.

Take a picture of a KA engine bay......you with me .......then have it blown up to normal size ok and then put it on the top of your SR engine bay with tape and super glue and then pass the visual then put foam rubber at the center of your muffler (always driving slowly) so you will pass the sensor test. Ok j/k

Hahah these guys are making a killing on you. Just swap back your old motor and smog that, then go and swap back your new motor. You'll have 2 years before you'll go through this again IF you don't get your hood pop and sent to the REF. Alot of smog tech guys are hesitant to do this now because of the undercovers guys visiting the smog stations. Good luck.
