Ok, first off let me say that I have done a search on code 21. I have attempted a few things such as checking connections and such on plugs, coil harness plug, and even switched the ignitor out.

Scenario.

I upgraded my sr with a 2871r turbo, nismo 740cc injectors, z32 maf and an enthalpy tuned ecu.

Let me start by saying there was NO problems with the cars running condition before I started this project.

I sent off the ecu to get tuned and installed all the listed components. I received the ecu back and plugged it up. I cranked up the car and was about to begin my ignition timing adjustment. I got the car running and warmed up. When I hit the gas the three times to go above 3k rpm, it no longer wants to stay running. It stalls out. I then crank the car back up and it will randomly shut off. Not stall. Just shut off after a minute of running.

I checked the codes and it gave me a code 21 which is ignition code. Cleared it out, and tried again. Then it gave me a code 13 which is coolant temp sensor. Then cleared again and gave me a 12 code for maf. I cleared it out again and tried cranking several times. It would crank up and run for a minute and shut off. Seems like complete loss of spark. Not sure what is going on.

Contacted Enthalpy up and he had me mail him the ecu. His customer support is great by the way. He said the ECU may have had some issues and replaced the ecu with another one and mailed it back to me. I installed it back on the car and cranked it up. Car warmed up fine. I attempted to get it into timing mode by revving three times. The car then stalled out after revving passed 3k three times. I let it set for a minute and cranked it back up. It idled for a few minutes and I got the timing at about 19 degrees and almost 20 where he says to set it. The car stalled again. Just simply stopped running. It throws code 21. I clear it out and let the car cool off and it still throws the same code 21. I am pretty mechanically inclined. However these codes are pissing me off. I have tried to figure it out for the past few hours. Please someone help me out.

CAS can cause a code 21
Maybe it's the acoustics, but that sounds like Shyt!
That filter on the T. could also be allowing in unmetered air.

The filter has been there previously with no issues. I will check the cas.

Ordered a new coil pack harness and coolant temp sensor.

Ok..Replaced the coolant temperature sensor. The ignition code went away. Then it gave me a 12 code for the maf again. I replaced the maf with another z32 maf I had. The car runs the same and now I get a code 55 which tells me the car is fine. It still stalls out and won't stay running. I drove it around and it will stay running if I keep it in gear. I am stumped.

If I keep the gas pedal at 900 rpm and don't move my foot, I am getting a pattern in idle rpm. It will sit at 900 and every 10 seconds or so it will drop to about 200 rpm and almost die and then jump to 1500 rpm really quick and settle back at the 900. It is a continuous pattern. I don't get it.

check timing, set it to 15deg adjust your idle in timing mode

I thought the timing is high

Timing is set at 20. Got an enthalpy tuned ecu. They said adjust the timing to 20. I will say when I started to adjust the timing it initially was at 5 degrees.

No one has any ideas? Car has been sitting now for about two weeks.

You should ask your tuner!

Could be the ignition switch or the coil relay.
