Hey guys. In the middle of an sr swap. Got the engine in and went to plug my harness in. Bought the harness brand new on eBay from a reputable dealer. I go to plug the engine harness into the dash harness and both ends are a female plug. It's a single cam shell. Help?

Cut the plug off your ka harness, cut that plug off the sr harness, color match the ka plug onto the sr harness. BAM!!! Done

Should all the colors match up?

Does anyone know for sure if the colors would match on this thing. The guy I bought it from is being less then helpful.

Yes they should... There should be a brown connector that goes up into the front inside your glove box next to a blue relay, and a white connector that goes up by where the harness goes into the engine bay. Regardless, the brown connector should match up. If both plugs under there are female (the white ones), then chances are the motor that used to be in the car before that was a DOHC- in which case, you don't need the white connector anymore.

Thanks guys, but does anyone know why I'm in this situation? Why do I have two female plugs? It's a 90 ka24e shell. I'm fed up with the guy I bought it from and I'm about to return it and buy a tuck harness. I bought it from JDM_planet. Don't buy ANYTHING from this guy. He has absolutely no knowledge on what he's selling. Any help guys?

If you are talking about the white plugs (both female), then you shouldn't need them if it's a pre-made harness.

Here:
Read step 12: http://site.wiringspecialties.com/clipart/S13toS13-SR20DETEngineHarnessInstall.pdf
If the brown connectors just inside the front glove box match, and the whites are both female, you are good to go... On the pre-made harnesses, there are all kinds of connectors that are not used for the swap.

Why wouldn't i need them? Got to plug it into the dash, right? And it also doesnt have that brown plug in it. Not to mention its missing the MAF plug.

When i was doing my sr swap on my single cam shell i took the dash off to find the dash harness was spliced together already to the single cam harness like there was a swap before me so i had no white plug at all. So i just cut them, removed the single cam harness and soldered in the sr harness. There will be some colors that arent used i think there all green. But they are all color coded.

@suprareal, that's weird. why would anyone put a soch in on purpose...? haha. but I'm so fed up with this guy I'm returning the harness. Plus id rather not tear apart my dash. i mean i payed a bunch of money for it, so i shouldnt have to do this.

Okay... The brown one is behind the top of the glove box door next to a blue relay... Maybe you don't (?)

I just checked my single cam harness and the white connector is female. If i remember right the white plugs are not exactly the same between the SR and KA connecting to the dash because they have extra wires you dont need. And you say its missing the maf plug also? i know i had to wire in a different plug and extend the length on the maf. I think you got a genuine SR harness that is meant for the 180sx rhd stock SR, if so you would have to make some changes to it. You probly will end up making modifications.
See if this helps you at all haha
You see here i have this extended plug with the brown end (which is dohc) do you have that? But in white female?
