Kind of up in the air on selling this thing... but I think it needs a better home. I picked this up last winter from super240sx71 and I think its the nicest s13 Ive had the pleasure of driving. He did really impressive work with the car, and was a great guy to deal with. Ive put about 4k miles on it since Ive owned it, I just dont have time or a place for it living downtown in a city. Im rarely home, and the thing is just too damn nice to go beat on at the track, which is what I originally wanted it for.
First off, VQ swap w/CD0009 trans, complete with AC and PS. Runs off of a Haltec VQ standalone, gauges all work just like OEM (exception of Tach, but I think Ill wire that this weekend) Aluminum rad w/silicon hoses, and OEM+ freshness abound. One of the cleanest bays Ive seen. It has a slight grind for 5th, but that has been the only mechanical err. Since Ive owned it, I put new belts and a replaced a noisy tensioner bearing on it, changed the oil with Castrol Edge 5w30, flushed the coolant and replaced a thermostat and heater hose. I also replaced a noisy throwout bearing and put new Redline MT90 trans fluid in. All preventative maintenance, as I am kind of insane about stuff like that. (no really, I have a problem) I also redid the exhaust system an added two mufflers, a dynomax 3" bullet and a Megan 240sx rear exhaust to quite things down, and tuck it up under the body a touch more. It has a great exhaust tone to it now, and not overbearingly loud.
The other additions were a small 10" sub in the back to liven up the sound system, Alpine head unit has USB in as well.EM THis interior is completely mint, s14 seats, and the rest is OEM fresh. Grabbed new struts for the hatch, and I just ordered a Sikky LSx front sway bay, as the stock front does not work with the VQ oil pan. (that sway is included, but not installed. The car has a custom metal undertray that will need modification to accommodate it, and I do not have my tools in Raleigh yet.) Emusa coilovers and all the standard adjustable control arms in the suspension. It has a great ride for DD status, you would probably want something stiffer with better dampening for track duty. Wheels are 17"x9" +15 Square G5's with Sumimoto tires, about 70% tread fronts, 50% rear.
The car even has the original window sticker, the carrying bag for the detachable sunroof as well as the straps in the back and the rear privacy cover and sunroof sun blocker. Whoa. I hadnt even seen those in my previous 2 240s, and they were both clean cars. This thing in on another level with being taken care of. It has 107k original miles on the car, and in the ~68k on the motorset. I drove the car up here from FL to NC, and wouldnt hesitate to drive it to CA.
Im asking $9500 obo There are two current paint flaws on the front and rear bumper, both of which I have scheduled to be painted June 12th. If you have a paint guy you would prefer, or would like to work on the price, I would go work the price down accordingly. You can see the blemish in the 2nd pic, a semi truck tire sidewall grazed the front left in the parking lot and took off the paint. :(
