what can i do to fix it? Right now i have HS headers which goes to a 2.5in custom exhaust and out a Magnaflow muffler. I got the system for $20, you get what you pay for. I ordered a high flow catco cat and i'm going to install that asap. will a cat help the raspyness?

But what else can i do to try lessen the raspyness? what causes the raspyness?

um, you are running straight pipe with a straight through muffler. wtf did you think it would sound like? if you wanna quiet it down just get a muffler. a real one. a thrush from summit is 17 bucks and would do fine.
also, its A header. just one. its a 4 cylinder.

cat will smoothen things out.

i ended up wanting a resonator as well when i was NA because the noise was just too annoying.

start with cat, add resonator if desired.

Dood, bliss, chill out. Not everybody likes to wake up the neigborhood when they drive around. So yeah, as these guys said. . . A cat will quiet it down, then you can decide if you want a resonator or a quieter muffler from there. . .

the same silly people that want to pay 500+ just for a catback.

I had mad raspy sound on my car. I put the cat on and it helped A LOT. I like the way it sounds right now. Stock cat, 2.5 inch cat back crush bent for free to a 2-chamber flowmaster(no resonator) to a 3.5? inch tip. i havent measured it.
