Drifting at Arroyo Seco Raceway, July 28!

$125 for a full day of drifting!
$10 for passengers

Tentative schedule, subject to change:
Gates open/Tech starts at 7:00am
Driver’s meeting/ Parade lap at 9:00am
Let the drifting commence 9:15am-5:00pm

This will be open drifting, no run groups. Come on and off the track as you want. This will provide more seat time than you can handle!

This is a perfect opportunity for all skill level drivers from first timer to pro to get out, practice, and have fun on an amazing track!

Make sure your car can pass basic tech inspection, nothing fancy here, same basic requirements as any laid back track. If you have questions about tech make sure to get them resolved prior to showing up. There will be no refunds, even if you don’t pass tech.

Battery must be secure and positive terminal covered.
Seats and seat belts/harnesses must be safe and secure.
No excessively leaking fluids.
All lugnuts must be present and secure.
All loose items must be removed from car and trunk.
Convertibles must have a roll bar or hardtop.
Use common sense. If you have issues that will make your car dangerous or unsafe in any way, fix it before showing up.
Wear closed toe shoes and long pants.

There will be some helmet rentals available but I recommend bringing your own just to make sure there’s one available in your size. DOT helmets are allowed.

This is an AWESOME track to drift on and very laid back too. No excuses, you have 2 months to ziptie your pile together before this event. Let’s get a good turnout so we can make this a regular occurrence!

Last year the series was run by Arroyo Seco and they purposely set stupid low prices to try and get more cars. The turnouts were still low and they actually LOST money on the series. Of course, they decided to cancel the series. It's sad because this is an AMAZING track which we may never be able to drift again. This event is being hosted by Southwest Skid Marks as an opportunity for those of us who love to drive. It's a "second chance" to add this track to our list of options, if this event is successful you may see semi-annuual events. Track rentals are not cheap. Nor is insurance, staff, medical personel, etc. For an event that doesn't have 40+ drivers the price will be slightly higher than some other events in order to break even. The benefit is that you will get TONS of seat time on a totally kick ass track. 8hrs of drifting (I forsee hot lapping) on an actual road course, not a skid pad.

Tires also last reasonably well at this track which will help bring the overall cost of the event down. It could very well end up being cheaper overall than an event that's closer to you or has a lower entrance fee. Especially once you factor in the cost to seat time ratio.

Sorry, I live in Az and picture Nm as also being considered SW. It looks like we should have a pretty good Az turnout which is much closer than any of the other "mountain states."

I posted this in "mountain states", all further replies should be done there, here's a link:
