i have done the z33 trans conversion, and was debating about going with a sensor that measures the speed of your driveshaft for a speedo....
one of them im looking at is on this page....
STACK Electric Speedometer (http://www.stackltd.com/professional_speedometer.html)

has any one use one of these? how accurate is it? how easy is it to install/calibrate?
i really dont want to have to change out my diff, and get the dakota speed sensor crap.... thought this would save me some time...(dont really need a speedo, but thought it would be nice to have...

I can not comment on the above item you are looking at. But Autometer have a speedo that hooks up to any speedo sensor or even an unused ABS sensor in the rear diff. To set it up after every thing is wired in is drive 2 miles exactly, any speed. Then hit a stop button, it counts the number of pluses generated during that 2 miles to give you an accurate rate of speed. so if you change wheel and tire sizes to what ever just drive the 2 miles again and reset. If I were to remove the factory cluster and make my own, or make a rat rod, I will be using that Autometer product.

^^ ok maybe i wasnt clear, i think you mis understood my question..... this is a track car..... i have a stack 8100 cluster, its a non abs diff, i dont want to switch it out to an abs diff. i was wanting to know if anyone has used a speed senor that gets its signal from the driveshaft as a seperate source...
another version of the sensor im talking about is this one....

the ring attatches around the drive shaft (near the yoke) and that s how it gets its signal..... ive never seen any one use one, and wanted to know if they are worth a damn, or just a waste of time and money....
