theyre almost impossible to break the back end loose. theyre racers not drifters
(4wd and 4ws)

if you try, you can. HICAS aids you in this a bit. the unique thing about the ATTESA system of 4WD that all the power is applied to the rear wheels, and torque is only shifted to the front wheels when it exceeds its cornering limits, or loses a significant amount of traction in the rear. if you were to power into the turn hard enough, you could break the rear loose.
or you could do it rally style, and use the handbrake <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

hks makes an attesa controller...its easy to make it rwd cuz the awd is electronic
on morpheus if you search top gear. you will find a video of a skyline getting sideways.

GTR's are AWD not the GTS-T or GTS-25T or the 4 door skylines. R34 is the body code, GTR is the trim. there for there are also 4 door r34. here is the topgear vid..

theres also the GT4-T, which is just basically the same as the GTS-T type M (rb25DETT), but with the AWD transmission and ATTESA

yeah, the gt-4's have awd, but they're really not all that rare, just that most ppl tend to mention the gt-r more w/ awd b/c of its power. gts-t's r all rwd 2, i don't know what skyline ya'll r talking about drifting, but u c awd cars "drifting" through turns on wet tracks, more like sliding i guess because u don't c hardly ne smoke or hear ne screaching as much.

i've seen camaros and cadillacs in japan but thats it.
oh, and they love old cars, like stingray vettes
BlankFlip

i think they have to import the newer cars over there (u.s. cars) just as we would have to do for the skylines so they're pretty rare. u can bring older american cars over there like the stingray vettes as van. mentioned basically hassle free.

its a lot easier to bring a car there. US servicemen do it all the time, and then they just sell them there. not as much of a problem as here. they just don't really like american cars for the most part. who wants a v8 when gas is so #### expensive there

i remember on base they had lots that had american cars, n i saw ppl driving them around on base, maybe they were test driving them or something. but i believe they were for ppl that were about to head back to the states n possibly wanted to have their car ready before they came back. but yeah, i wouldn't buy a v8 over there w/ all the bad ass cars they already got, i'd even rather have my 240sx here in the states w/ all the v8's around.

I'm GLAD Nissan doesn't import these cars. . thank god for Motorex. . Nissan'd just F it all up, as usual...
I love Nissan... don't get me wrong, but they do screw us every chance they get. . the 300zx TT was the only exception...

Also... In Japan, you get taxed out the ass for large displacement engines. Why you think they spent time making 2.0 liters that can hang with a V8? =)

i've been reading some mort, and I hear that if you disable HICAS with a kit from Tomei or similar, its alot easier to get the rear end out. HICAS basically just produces understeer when you're shooting out of the corners, which is good for the average driver who just wants to keep the car under control

I don't think you could be any more right. Have you seen the new skyline? They forgot a few things, like round taillights, turbo engine, a body that's not blindingly bland and/or ugly And nissan is dissapointed that its not meeting sales expectations.. Hmm.... (I could be wrong about the engine)

ya but one thing you should Know. their are two versions of Skylines always have been . One is the tamer more comfortable version and the other is the GTR series. Nissan has not brought out the new R series yet . Don't lose your faith so quickly.

states might be getting a "skyline," but it's not the skyline we usually think of, completely different car w/ the skyline name.
