shaky car

i was driving today and it was a hot day so i don't know if that has anything to do with the problem.

the thing is the car would sometimes shake at a stop you noticed alot in the shifter as it would go crazy. the car didn't stall it would just go back to normal. the idle didn't drop either. but the idle would jump up and down .
what could be the problem?
maybe i should run some seafoam through the car?

i kinda had the same problem before but my car would actually stall at most times or the idle would jump like yours. i cleaned the idle valve with brake cleaner and the problem is gone.

what are you runnin' under the hood a V8.....just playin' my car does that too....

Might be the distributor. I would check that out as well.

sorry for such a newb question but where is the idle valve?

Could be a fuel injector or plug wire failing intermitantly causing it to run on 3 cylinders for a few secconds.

Also you could try running a ground wire from the tab on the ignitor chip to somewhere that is grounded better. I did that yesterday and it smoothed out the idle a lot.
