Just got this car about 1 month, and I tried to bring it to do the emission test, and the guy at emission test station need to hook up the obd, but he could't find it, me neither...I am sure it been relocated or cut off...do you guys have any ideal where it could be? I hope the previous owner didn't cut it off...

Passenger side by center console under dash

Thank you for reply.
You mean under the console dash? is it easy to take off?

Meaning under the dash on the passenger side near the center console.

If it has an SR the OBD2 port is useless anyways.

It SHOULD be on the driver's side under the dash.

Yeah, just realized that sr doesn't have obd2...shit, I don't know how can I pass the emission test

you need to install a egr to pass the visual part anyway.

you can actually pass emissions if you know how to tune your ECU you can run lean to make the inspectors happy and richen it up after.

95's are on the passenger side, 96-98 are on driver side, and its all up to the tech doing the smog if they really know what a SR is,(ive seen them smog s13's with a catalytic converter and pass because they didn't know what a STOCK sr20det was) but since its a 98, they DO have to plug it in(depending on state, city, county). So you would have to get a stock motor or other find other ways.

umm...not for OBD-IIs. Sniffer is one thing to pass but you'll never pass OBD-II emissions.

of course you can if you have a obd2 car with a obd1 engine you need to convert the wiring to obd2 but it can be make to work just half of the people do shit wiring jobs and dont want to spend time to wire in a obd2 engine to a obd2 car.

Welcome to the 240 scene, Honda kid.

You're wrong. No SR's came factory to the US. Japan doesn't use OBD2. You will not get an SR to pass emissions legally with obd2, unless you get an emissions exempt sticker.

i dont own a 240sx i own a Z31 i have to actually fabricate take measurements and MAKE shit work unlike you where you have bolt on parts and everyone is spoon fed.... get on my level... BRAH!

I'm willing to bet IT CAN be made to work... at a expensive cost but im sure it's very possible. using a OBD2 ka24 harness + SR20 im sure it CAN work.

you can socket a obd2 ka ecu to work, PAIN in the ass to get working but im sure it can be done.

Lol, do it then, smart guy. It's been talked about for many years. Both of your suggestions. It's probably even been attempted. A quick search would have told you that. There's a reason why nobody is doing it.

Now who's being spoonfed? :picardfp:

:bs:

ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE with enough $$$ once you learn that you will learn anything is possible. IT CAN be done im positive.

but since people dont want to drop 2 or 3k on a wiring harness to pass emissions i dunno up to you. if you know electricity and know how it actually WORKS you'd know it's possible pain in the ASS but possible.

bumping the thread to be a smart ass. you could just have a spare exhaust with like 6 catalytic converters, run it lean, and I think you might make it lol.
