raced an Evo today..big suprise at the end.

So im cruising along on I70 and see a black Evo VIII. I was like, sweet..i've always wanted to race one of these. So i get up next to him and eyeball his car a little, he's slow to respond, but eventually does. I kicked into 4th before he did and waited for his car to move..quite possibly the quietest race ever. I didnt hear his car, my car is almost silent anyway (HKS Hipower :w00t: ) His initial jump is all he gets and we stay dead even. From 65-120 or 130ish..we're dead even, nobody is pulling on anybody..just a weird, but cool race. Anyway, I see a van in his lane coming up infront of him fast, i brake and flag him in front of me. So we get next to each other again just to wave, 'nice race', whatever. He looks at me and holds up a sign: "Official Business: Montgomery County Police" :eek: He laughed and waved me on. Some cops are cool..some are pricks...confucious say :bow:

Wow that's a cool story. I heard this happens a lot in Texas..where the cops race racers on the street. Anyways..what do you have on your car?

Cool story..Races where the cars are dead even always seem like they're in slow motion....Maybe it's me but whenever it happens the race just seems slow till someone cuts u off of you gotta sow down real quick for some reason.

I have a wicked exhaust leak, so im only running 4-5psi of boost. All the GReddy stuff isnt hooked up yet. Ive always been iffy on the SR20 thing because my KA-T was such a monster on the highway..but so far, the SR isnt too disappointing..cant wait to jack the boost. Are the 370cc injectors purple? I'm just curious because my clip came with a fuel pump controller, no top speed governer, an Apex boost controller and a few bolt ons..maybe he upped the fuel stuff too?

the local shop near me has an evo tuned to 400WHP on stock internals and turbo. pretty cool stuff. too bad AWD is for cheaters. ;)

Buy a motorset: you know its stock, but you dont know the miles
Buy a clip: you know the miles, but not the mods.

I know it maybe sound crazy..but as far as i know, the Evo was stock..and my car is running shitty boost.

I dont remember crying for anything..i was telling a story and asking if anyone could relate. You can go ahead and flame. I dont really care. Street racing on a highway is a bit differant than flying through the neighborhood at 2am. It kinda goes like this in stuff I care about

Bacari--it was a lot of fun, but wasnt looking for a race or anything at the park..no where to really get away from cops. 270 gets 2 per side pretty much. The guy who bought your car is putting in an RB25, or so I hear..and my KA-T got a forged bottom end, the kid is shooting for 400rwhp.

Montgomery county MD. Kinda far away though. I 70 is a great road to haul ass. Nice and winedy and you can see every pig post. Also is even better towards breezewood PA. Never any cops. Although on the way back from breezewood cop flies up behind the guy next to me we slow down and he stays there for 15 min then gets behind me stays for another 10 min and i move out of the way. Cop then flies up goin like 110mph gets in his pig post and starts shooting radar. WTF?

Its possible,,Im still running my stock exhaust with a cheap muffler welded on and I was dead even with a 04 srt-4 from a roll..plus awd+highway is not a good combination for a stock evo
