My father's car has a fully built S13 sr20det engine. The car runs great the engine has less than 5,000 miles. Come and drive it for yourself. 13psi 300 horsepower. yeah, 13psi and 300 horsepower off a gt2871r turbocharger. We never turned up the boost because he feels like the engine "still hasnt been broken in enough" and of course I just cant convince him that the car could get any faster. he thinks its fast enough. He drives it about 500 miles per year or less. its been together for over 5 years now.

Anyways, Ive been telling him to sell the car forever and build one with a 2jz-gte. But he always says "no I love this car, I want to keep it forever" So then I came up with a new plan: sell the engine and install a 2jz-gte.

so its up for sale, I guess. machine shop labor was around $2000 and parts are over $5000 including the turbocharger and full-race manifold and everything else. Like I said, its installed and running come for a test drive then we yank it out and its yours. ferrera valves cp pistons eagle rods full guides arp head studs arp main studs align bored deck plated full race manifold garret 2871r 56 trim power FC D-jetro brand new 740cc knife edge crankshaft, A/C, and more.

If interested PM me. I have picture of engine assembly, all parts when new, and pictures of the original engine/transmission before overhaul and almost every step of the way.

recently he drove the car to me and I got a few pictures. Im the one who maintains it so I take hundreds of pictures for records.

so how much are you selling for?

Kingtal0n
05-16-2013, 04:18 PM
I figure 80% of whatever the parts cost new. I am including the power FC, transmission, entire engine, full race manifold, turbocharger, injectors, wiring, etc... in my quote here. Figure around $10,000 obo.

Engine complete motorset: $2000
pistons/rods/turboetc... from enjuku see receipt $5000
Full race manifold $1000
power FC D-jetro $1000
machine work see receipt $2000

already over 10k in parts and havnt even started nickel and dime stuff.

you would not get 10g for it but good luck looks clean i spent 6k on a fully built swap not to long ago, just to give you a ball park.

way cleaner swap good guy. im just saying with cars you never get what you put in to it.

Kingtal0n
05-17-2013, 06:55 AM
My swap is worth more $$ is because it has been seasoned. If it was recently assembled that would be one thing. But this engine has been driving for 5 years- about once per every 2 months about 100 miles on the highway and 20 around town. That is proof that is in the oil so to speak, that the engine is healthy. You never know with built engines, especially "freshly built" engines with "1500 miles" that you would ask yourself- "why that guy selling his freshly built engine for so cheap?"

You pay more for quality. and real injectors.

there are hundreds of thousands of forum members and like .001% of them are seeing this thread. it just takes the right person looking for this exact type of setup. If it never sells, then so be it, my father just drives it forever. I cant adjust the price lower because its not really mine to adjust. And he would rather keep it than give it away.

now, we can start taking off parts to reduce the price. I take off the transmission, clutch, flywheel, power FC, driveshaft, subframe, differential, that will knock a large $2000 chunk off.

think of it as a part out;

engine alone 5k in parts 2k in machine work = 7k total so $6000 would be the discount price
turbocharger with lines will go for 1000
full race manifold will go for 800
power fc will go for 800
transmission/clutch/flywheel i will keep those are always good to keep around $keep
differential/subframe can stay with the car too $keep
engine wiring harness I can also $keep (S13->S14 always good to have around)
same with all the little leftovers, exhaust parts, wideband, radiator, shroud, etc i can keep

I can sell it separate but only after ALL of the other parts are spoken for 100%. I cant just take it off my father would never let me part the engine one single part at a time.

I've been building 240's since I was 20, and I know what things are worth. There is always a buyer out there looking for exactly what I have because it is done right.
Just because randoms post and say "it will never happen" doesn't automatically make the universe bend to their will. Might as well not even post up. Why waste your time?

Well thanks for bumping the thread, thats really the end result.

That maxworx price is great, but it does NOT include an engine.

That full-race manifold is also nice, but it does NOT work with LHD vehicles.

So I have a rare limit production manifold that does work with LHD vehicles. And my engine is not only complete, its broken in, seasoned, and ready to rock and roll.

Taking offers on parts, and the whole thing.

Do you even?

** This price is based on you providing us the engine to work with. Core charges may apply **
yes i do even.
check like an example on the sr20 ve-t. They have a core charge of $350 for a s13 sr block if you were to not provide a block, and im pretty sure that applies to all of the other ones too cause it be dumb of them to charge that price for only the SR20VET option. Cause an s13 sr block is an s13 sr block... AND onto the head of the engine, im pretty sure they have a heads available around the same price like 300 to 500ish since we know mazworx is expensive lol (just gotta call them).
point all of us are getting at is if you gonna charge a brand new engine pricetag for a used one, it aint gonna happen cause a buyer would just buy a whole brand new one if that were the case.

Mazworx Street Series Stage 1.1 SR20DET/VE - Engine - Mazworx (http://www.mazworx.com/product/engine/nissan/nissan-sr20detsr20ve/complete-longblocks/street-series/mazworx-street-series-stage-11-sr20detve)
there you can check to see the core charge option (yes its the VET option thing but you still need to use a damn RWD sr block and the core charge option is on the bottom.)

Anyway. Nice engine OP, def be nice to get this sold so you can put the 2jz into your dad's car, but i doubt you gonna get that 6k asking price wit the way zilvia shoppers are haha. But thats how business is, start high and have a poker face on your real price you be willing to let her go for when that price is set.

I'm just curious how you spent $5k on machining???

Kingtal0n
10-09-2013, 08:32 PM
It clearly shows a receipt for the machine work, and the total. Not sure how you got 5k. Maybe including the entire engine/transmission?

Anyways. Updated picture of the engine how it sits.

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b378/draglarry/terrys_car/P1150698_zps6d99812b.jpg

I finally checked the logs of this engine's mileage and it has about 14,000 miles as of today. It's been my daily driver for about 3 months now and I put about 6000 of those miles on it myself these last few months. I am switching it over to synthetic soon after the next leakdown test to ensure the rings are ready for it.

I have around 100 hours of fine tuning invested as well. Basically anytime I drive the car I have the laptop on logging- and although there is no much you can do once its nearly perfect, I have been able to gradually squeeze better fuel economy out of it over the past few months. Over 30mpg highway with A/C on. Thats in a sunroof SE, with luggage and spare tire and a completely full tank of gas.
