well, i'm getting a loan to completey finsh/re-do my car. New interior(s15 seats, new vinyl), getting my s15 conversion finished, and finnally getting a move on the sr swap. With this, i'm going to be purchasing some Volk TE-37's. Yeah, i might have to take out another loan to buy them, but they're Volks! could someone change this car's color to my dark blue and maybe add some volks. anyone else want to add some thing they think i should do? Thanks.

i understand your trying to do a good thing but if i were u i wud wait...save up money...then buy parts instead of taking out a loan...but if u can handle it then go for it...just my 2 cents
otherwise good luck with the car...hope to see some pics soon!

Dont get too happy with those Loans, I think the worst thing to do is take loans out for mods..But as said, If you cna handle it and make good money to pay off the loan, Then do it. But becareful.
What did you acutally need our opinions on? just curious

hey man, i say finish the conversion, do the sr, and do a 5 lug conversion but try to find some cheaper wheels, te37's will kill that cash i put mustang wheels on mine 17x8's, maybe find osme used ones, or roll for some new %zigen pro racers(i thnk thats what they are called) they look pretty good, just htink youll need some new paint too:) oh yeah when is my car gonna be on the site, becasue before you do it, i wanna send some different pics:)

yeah, mrmephistopheles... its called i'm tired of driving an old car. i'm completely re-doing it, in and out. making it new again, so to speak. i'm probably just going to settle for some agx's, put on my tein springs, 300zx lsd, sub-frame spacers, strut bars and tie rods. that should do it for my suspension. i'm doing the fastbrakes 2 pistons kit with slotted and drilled rotors.

wow, totally going to wrong way... you are spending all that money and getting GTP fenders? hahaha ... you better have your toes crossed as well, fingers aint gonna cut it.
why go with the fastbrake setup? You can find a Z32 brake setup for like 300 bucks, i got my fronts for less than $100 with rotors... got the rotors resurfaced, got new brake pads, cleaned the calipers, sprayed them for $5
i also got a five lug swap for under $200 . browse the junkyards brody or www.car-parts.com

rethink this... debt is a very, very bad thing. if you can pay it off quick, then save it up and wait however long you need to and do it when you have the money. you can take advantage of deals, groupbuys and sales whenever they pop up along the way. if you can't pay it off quick, then you are screwing yourself over. money invested in a car never recoups its value. its like throwing it down a gutter. u should only mod car with disposable income... loan for mods is a TERRIBLE idea. seriously you should reconsider doing this...

why dont you sell your car and use that loan money as a down payment on a new car..since thats what youre trying to do.

It's not a life a death deal. I dont think he's getting a 20 thousand dollar loan..he said 6 thousand. I've spent over 6 thousand dollars on my car over my credit cards(same as a loan) and then payed it off..

yeah, mrmephistopheles...
If you don't like driving an old car, GO BUY A NEW ONE.
Honestly, if I ever got tired of all the smells and creaks and leaks and problems with my S13, i'd probably go buy a brand new $3,777 Kia Rio from Shaver Kia, but since I have love for S13s and all their shortcomings, I'll keep that $3,777 and use it to pay bills.
The reason I laugh at getting loans for mods, is because i've BEEN THERE DONE THAT
and it's fucking stupid.
If I could go back and say 'HEY STUPID! You don't need mods that bad!' I would, but this is how lessons are learned sometimes.
As far as making an S13 new.. you're not really looking to make it new, you're looking to modify it.
I have a stupid idea that one day, I'll find a clean S13 and I'll go apeshit spending a retarded amount of money rebuilding it into a 'new' 240sx, much in the way Nissan did with the 240Z about 10 years ago.
That's something I'll do if I have more money than I know what to do with..
As far as asking other people what YOU should do with YOUR money, that kinda shows me a little bit of insight into your maturity/knowledge level.
Anybody who's been messing with/modifying cars for long enough can rattle off a list of things they'd do with money. If they had it to spare. Usually, they won't say 'I dunno.. maybe I should ask someone else.'
For me, I'd do this with money:
1. Pay bills/debts off
2. Perform preventative maintenance to the car.
3. Perform reliability mods to the car (cooling, brakes, etc)
4 is a tie between: Spend money on driving events/schools and buy fun parts for car.
Since most of the time, 1 & 2 are taken care of already, and 3 is based on necessity (no need for turbo timer if you have no turbo, etc), 4 comes up quite a bit. #1 is the important one though.
Don't get me wrong, it felt good to call up Eloy and tell him I wanted an exhaust, differential and coilovers drop-shipped to me, but if I had to do it all over again, I'd have saved up.

i get what you're saying. I'm only getting a loan for 4 grand, i've got 2 saved up. i'll have it paid off in no time. basicly i'm replacing the falling apart interior, fix my front where i wrecked, getting the sr in that i've been putting off for sometime now, and bumping up my suspension mods. I might drift my car every now and then, but i won't need anything too expensive to do it with. The volks are out the question now... because $2,500 for wheels are just pointless to me now. if i do get new wheels, it will probably be some buddy clubs. that just an iffy. the fastbrakes won't cost me that much. its the Q45 calipers... with 11'' rotors. and about the GTP fenders, i already have them. :)
