So a while back my ka24e was fine then started sputtering hard while driving and wouldn't even accelerate because it was sputtering so hard so I pulled over and popped the hood and mad gas smell (3 out of 4 injectors were leaking) so I limped it home bought new injector o rings, fixed the leaks and same problem. So I determined it was probably the injectors so I swapped a few out a couple times with an extra set I had and the same thing then it wouldn't even start anymore just sputtered when trying to start. So it's been sitting for like 3 or 4 months now and a friend gave me 4 of his injectors from his KA and I decided to try it one last time and the same thing happens. Sputters super hard have to press the pedal fairly hard to keep it running, let off the pedal, it stalls and then it just cranks and no sputtering or anything so it leads me to believe it's definitely not the injectors now.

Don't think it's the fuel pump as you can still smell gas and if you pull the injectors out the rail is full again, the distributor and rotor were changed out last year so they're newer and I changed the spark plug wires and cleaned up the spark plugs so they look new again. Anyone have any ideas of what I could check or do? I don't want to just buy random parts trying to get it to work as I'm selling it and don't want to put any more money than I have to.

Could be that the ecu is fried. Have you tried to swap one and see?

Nope haven't tried that. Is it really that easy to fry an ecu though?

The ecu is an electronic part (obviously) so it could fail for any number of reasons. A car I used to own had issues like yours and changed the ecu and the issues were fixed. Also check the fuel pressure and regulator to make sure you are getting the right psi.
