Hello nissaners lol, My names Leo, I'm 16, and I love cars (Nissans) but anyways
Lets get to the point. My Grandfather has a 240sx and I LOVE IT . He also has
An 280zx 83' Automatic . He said I can buy a 240sx Body, and put the 280zx Motor in, I've read around and I see its possible, but I'm Clueless on what to do. I need to know what I need to Buy , and if there is any mods I have to do. I Have $1200 saved up , and I'm willing to spend it on this project. Is there I guide anywhere? Thanks for your help, Leo.

Yes you CAN, but the question is WHY would you want to??? The 280 motor is outdated and sub-par when even compared to a basic KA-t. A stock SR20 swap would be a big improvement from a 280 swap.
My suggestion is that you spend quite a bit of time browsing build threads on this forum and see what other people have done, and figure out exactly what kind of goals you're looking to achieve before spending any of your $$$

keep the 280 and restore it.
do a basic engine swap on the 240 (ca, rb sr) and enjoy it and LEARN.

Search first, get some mechanical knowledge second. Don't spend your money if you're are inexperienced because then I'll see your "project" on Craigslist

Welcome to the form, please use the search function and research/read. No one is going to hold your hand here.
As stated, WHY would you want that huge hunk of outdated iron in the car? Your best bet is to start with basic things and learn the car. You don't need a powerful motor as you're just learning to drive as it is.

You should Also probably post an Introduction... you know, read the forum rules... So you don't get flamed/threads locked...
If you want to use a 280Z motor... Why not use the 280Z chassis? Has that ol' school JDM appeal...
If you want to do the 240 chassis, use an engine >/= it's model year. SRs, RBs, VQs, VHs, LSXs... Possibilities are endless. My vote is for none of them. Use the KA and learn how to drive. Too much power too quick is how people total their cars...

You're not going to get very far with 1200 bucks on a 240 for any swap including that 280 engine. The car alone is going to cost you about that.
