Well My SR just started having this weird problem. It has always cranked up fine when its cold. Always runs great. Never hesitates. I will drive it for about 15 minutes and go in and eat somewhere then come out and it wont start. If i let it sit it will start. Its almost like its flooded. I have replaced the CTS and it still does it. I have Reset the ECU ( J4 ) and it still does it. It is just a bolt ons SR with a Z32 maf and safc2. Anyone else have the problem? I would pull codes but the damn J4 ecu doesnt have the screw that turns.

anyone else have the warm start problem and successfully solved it?

I have tried searching and have yet to find one that found the problem. I would swap in a buddies ecu and try that but none of them have 96-98 ecus. damn type x motor.

Did you replace the 2 wire CTS or the 1 wire CTS? Because SR has 2 CTS. 1 has 1 wire and thats for the temp gauge. The other has 2 wires which is for the ECU. The one that you need to replace is the 2 wire CTS that goes to the ecu. If you already replaces the correct CTS I would recommend you to use an OEM CTS. Because a lot of times the part store CTS are no good from the beginning. But it definitely sounds like you have a CTS issue. And it's still very possible to pull ecu codes with that screw missing. You would just have to use a real fine Phillips head screw driver to do so. Hopefully I was able to help out. Good luck.
