Heres the scoop. My buddy put a new clutch in his s13 and as usual it was a bit h sliding the trans back on. Problem is the trans will only go into 3rd and 4th gear nothing else car is not running due to a bad starter so haven't tried with car running this is a different tranny the. What came out was told it was good has been sitting for 5 years. Also it's a s14 ka with a s13 ka trans ? Any ideas guys?

Yeah. Change your starter.

Before you do anything, do this and and see if it will go into gear then.

Had a similar issue and this was after having the case apart twice. It's going oil on it now but not filled and i can go through every gear with it bolted up to the motor. New clutch and everything.

I had one that was completely cluster effed that felt really chunky and if you forced it after jiggling neutral for a second you could cram 3rd and 4th gear. Nothing else.

Not telling you what the problem is by any means. If you are worried replace it or split the case and go from there. I know it's a bitch....... Sorry dude.

Also, what gear oil did you put in it?

Try pushing the car forward or backwards a few feet then try again.

In to see where this goes. I have a tranny with the same issue sitting in my garage. Haven't had a chance to open it.

Did you test it to see if it went into all gears before installing it?

Unfortunately we didn't was under the impression it was good. If not out it comes and we have a spare just will have to swap a part over

Yeah see same here. I got mine "out of a running car" with no shifter on it. Got home let it sit a while, slapped a shifter on there and 3rd gear only. Luckily I have a spare as well.

At least I now have an excuse to open one up and mess with it.
