Saturn is just about at opposition (best possible viewing). Shot this around midnight last night thru my telescope:

Roughly 1,500 frames of raw footage that I will later process into a single, stacked image.
With the planet-cam hooked up to my computer, I get to sit, drink beer & watch it in real time:

If you have even a pair of decent binoculars, or a cheap-o backyard scope, you should give Saturn a look- definitely a sight you won't forget! It rises in the east/southeast at sunset and sets at sunrise- right now it is trailing just behind the moon on approximately the same plane.

Hmm, telescope or car parts...
edit:
Damnit, its cloudy and the sky is too bright to see anything but the moon... :(
edit2:
Snapped a picture with the Canon T2i. I'm pretty sure this is Saturn, was the only dot in the sky that I didn't really recognize. The bright light in the bottom right corner is the moon.
Warning... Big image: http://tehl33tsite.com/images/saturn042513.jpg

Yup- Saturn was running pretty much neck and neck with the moon tonight- Put that puppy on a tripod and you'll nag it!
