I have searched but have not found exactly what I am looking for. I am planning on getting 17x9 wheels all the way around and trying to figure out which offset to go with. The wheels come in +35 or +20 offset. Read that +35 will sometimes hit the coilovers and I don't want that. My goal is to have the wheel/tire come just inside of a rolled fender and not have to run camber or if I absolutely have to run very little.

How about giving these a read.

Been through the fitment thread but not all have specs and a pain trying to sift through them. I was just looking for a answer on if +20 would require me to run camber or not.

there is a lot more that will affect it. On my s14 I have 18x9.5 +20 on all four corners. There is about 5mm between them and my koni and ground control setup. Im running 2.5 camber on all corners also. they are neatly tucked in rolled fenders. the wheels came off a s13 and he couldnt run coilovers becuse they hit. My race tire setup is 17x9 plus 25 i believe , i cant remember and run 1.5 camber.

You need to do a lot more reading, measuring, and mathematics. Just because a wheel is +20 doesn't mean its the same across the board. A 17x9 +20 wheel will fit differently versus a 17x10.5 +20 wheel.

Right I know it varies depending on width of wheel. The wheels in question are the xxr 535 if anyone has experience with them. Have not found much info on them since they are new

Read the offset for dummies. It will tell you how to measure your car properly in order to figure out which offset is best suited for your car.

Fuck, I give up...go +20, +35 wont clear your suspension. If you still need me to hold your hands, PM me...

How about you look for the fitment questions thread, much more info as well as the proper place to post instead of making a new thread.

17x9 +20 will be out the fender the closer to 0 camber you get. +35 is terrible.

I have pulled and rolled front and rear fenders. Rears with 17x9 +17 and 0.5 camber the lip is outside the fender, only the tire tucks inside at compression. Fronts also 17x9 +17 and -2.5 camber is pretty flush at the top.

Why would you not want any camber? The 240sx comes with almost -2 camber all around from the factory.

^^^some of us cant afford to have camber and need to minimize the amount of camber.....especially in the rear.

Thanks for responses guys. I just didn't want my wheels cambered in where it was very obvious like the VW crowd.

How can you not afford it? Camber is free last I checked, only gotta pay if you want more then what the stock bolts can give you.

Then you're going to have to work it to get those wheels to fit.

This is my car with the 9" +17's with 0.5 camber. Notice poke + rear arch pull. So yeah, they don't fit easily.

Thanks for the picture it helps. looked more into the wheels than just what was on enjukus website and found I will have to choose between 8.25 and 9.75 wide. I think I will go with 8.25 +20 which should have less poke than a 9 inch wheel at +20 if I have read everything correctly.

just buy the +20, add spacers if necessary, roll fenders if necessary, brush dirt off hands. YOLO

I believe he's referring to tire wear.

Camber doesnt fuck your tires up as quickly as shitty toe would.

You're preaching to the choir. I was merely clarifying what 2muchboost was trying to say. So uh, 2muchboost, make a note.

Gets into modding RWD cars
Does not want to deal with tire wear.

Hence why I said it was free, as long as your car is not a shit box 240 with fucked up alignment its still free. Hell even if a $70 alignment makes your $100 full set of shit tires last twice as long its still a good investment. Though I know you understand that zombie, so this is more aimed at 2muchboost.

Camber has little to no effect on tire wear at all. If anything, they may last longer since you can flip them and wear down the other side. lol

@zero.....well obviously this isn't of any concern to the OP but if up your trying to setup a project for drag racing with rather high power and torque output then you can not afford much neg camber at all...hell if that is your cup of tea you may even benefit from minor positive camber.

l. Lol I didn't mean my quote financially I meant it from a setup and/or proper setup point of view. Trust me I have been hear long enough to know about cost, camber, and the effects on tire wear and ride geometry :).

Then afford would not be the right word, the right word words would be do not need or produce negative effects.

This car will see more of the drag strip than anything else. I also hate the look of crazy camber.

Lol it's a figure of speech good sir. I guess...will not be appropriate for his build goals lol....no one produces negative camber but what do I know I am not a linguistics major just a little ol engineer.

S13 then yes you would want little to no camber depending on many variables such as suspension setup, tire size and tire compound...etc
