What mods would you do to your car if your parents gave you $10,000 for your car and anything else you wanted.

With 10K I would go nuts:

NSport Turbo Kit
cams
ACT clutchg
gauges
Nismo short shifter
2 racing seats (reclining)
Eibach prokit, kyb agx, whiteline heavy duty swaybars, front rear strut bar
PDM- Red Powercoated 300zx brake upgrade.

That should leave me around $10,000. And one #### of a grin.

you mean 10k to get a car and mod it, or 10k to mod a car you already have

Mods to an existing car.

RB25DET swap, tomei 4.08 rear end/VLSD, OS giken twin plate clutch, blitz k27 turbo, some TEIN coils. if you sourced the parts from japan you could easily trick out your car for 10k, but you'd have to go find them yourself, for the most part.

Hmmmm probably save it but if I had to put it in this car i'd put $4,000 aside so I can import my car home to the US, then about $3,500 for rims and suspension, that leaves me with $2500 That would get me Exhaust/Intake/ECU upgrade and I could squeeze a front mount intercooler out of that budget if I wanted to, but then again if I had $10,000 I would save it.

mmm to buy and car and mod it...i'd:

Get a 85 Corolla.
Strip it.
1 Recaro Seat
Get a bride reinforced roll cage.
Cusco Front and Rear Strut Bars.
DO-LUCK Rear Cross Bar
DO-LUCK Rear Ladder Bar
DO-LUCK Front Ladder Bar
KAAZ LSD.
Tein HR/HA Dampers
^===so far, one stiff ass car.
Drop a 20V engine (forgot the codename lol)
TODA Cams, pistons, ecu, gasket, valves.
5Zigen Rocket Exhaust (lolololol)
HKS Filter.

mmm thats up there around 14k though..

What i'd do to my existing car?

Fix my front end.
Drop a SR20DET
And hopefully whatever is left get some dampers.

I'd pay my car off, get suspension and save the last 3 or 4k for a rainy day.

well if i had a hachi, i would just get a 3S-GTE out of an SW20 or something else that uses it in RWD. you could get it up to 350hp on several thousand without much trouble. i saw a 450hp 86 once, nedless to say, it was very sick

You can do that or get the limited edition trd formula atlantic engine that make a 1.6 liter get 240 hp and up to 260 torque NA... so awsome it is not even funny, this is on 108 octane and 12.3:1 compression.. but who the #### cares that is freakin awsome.

formula engine would be a bitch for drifting, or just streetability. besides if i had enough money to afford that i'd just get a full Toda race setup

Full engine rebuild, higher compression pistons, rings, head gasket, rods, ported head, port/polish manifold, performance valves/springs/lifters, overbore throttle body, cams, cam gears, injectors, fuel rail, headers, cobra MAF, fuel pump, Apexi N1 Dual, custom intake manifold (I think PSI240 had one fabricated). Plus springs and new driveline components. Though by now I think i'd be a bit over the 10 thousand dollars, but if I could afford it that's what i'd do

i definately agree that having $10k and being able to afford $10k of modifications are two totally different things

I would invest it and use the interest to get my mods. But that is the economist in me, just the way I am.

turbo kit, auto to manual swap, pistons, rods. cams. valves, and related, cai, header. exaust, ecu, bumper kit, drop, rims/tires, sway, strut bars, custom interior, full custom audio system with tvs and video
i think i broke 10 but that would be nice

Would buy a welder, tubing bender, and early 70's Toyota Corolla in wrecking yard that is almost perfect. So old, it actually has a frame, and a rear axle. And I mean frame frame. Truck frame. Kick ass. I can get it for 450, but it'd need complete rebuilding for everything. I'd stick a Buick alum V6 in that think and some 240 suspension, and haul ass. And it'd definitely be below 10,000.

Hmm, hadn't thought of buying tools with the money.... I really would like to have a lift. They have some pretty cool ones for pretty cheap actually. I think it's called a personal lift or something.

12-03-2001, 09:40 PM
Turbo kit and rebuild and a over-haul of the auto trans i'd keep it auto just to keep the power band high..... why fuss over a swap when keeping it auto could end up faster

One word. Save it, or invest it. you'll thank yourself later for this.

I was told that engine costs over $30K USD
that's well over $40k in CDN dollars.

use it as part of a downpayment on a townhouse w/ a garage (gee - with that and another $15K, I would have about a 10% downpayment). *sigh*

i'll TELL you what i'd do with $10,000....two chicks at the same time man. nevermind it was off the movie office space, and it was actually a million. i think i'd actually take that 10000 and invest into an online store, selling car audio and nissan performance parts
