Powersteering will work when the car is turned on hot or cold. Taking first turn just fine. After that it rarely comes back to help. Not really a set speed or engine rpm to when it comes back. Anyone have this problem? Ive searched.

Did you happen to check your fluid level? If it's empty, service it before you burn the pump up... and check to find the leak. BTW, make sure you use the correct fluid... It takes ATF fluid... check your local Vatozone.

If it has fluid, and it has never been changed, suck as much out as you can with a Mityvac, and put fresh fluid in it.

Has fresh fluid. Bought a used pump off here. No leaks. Fluids topped

I did a dual cam swap. Dont have the idle sensor in the high pressure hose but that shouldnt matter

Did you bleed the system?

Pretty simple procedure... Jack the front of the car up... With the engine OFF, turn the wheels from lock to lock about ten times; then top it back off. This should burp the air out.

Any more details you may have left out?

;)

Update seems to be working a little bit more now that i put solid motor mounts in this weekend. But still an intermittent stop every so often.

Did you use automatic tranny fluid or power steering fluid? Mine worked like shit and whined like a supercharger, then I put ATM in it like I should have from the get go and all is right in the world.

Fuck. Ill try that tonight. Thanks.

The system has a thermostatic bolt does it not? When my friends one had the wrong bolt in it would do this. Got another thermostatic bolt and her presto.
