I just recently tubbed my front end and just finished welding it up. I am leaving the state in 2 days and won't be back to do a proper paint job for at least 3-4 months.
What is the best way to protect the metal from rust before I can get a proper paint job?

Or just leave it and do some corrosion control when you get back, it will just be surface rust anyways.

you need to spray it and seal it with epoxy primer. if you don't, it will still form rust underneath with regular primer.

^Self Etching primer will work just fine. Once you get back, sand the self etch and spray it with some quality Epoxy primer/sealer, and you'll be good to go.

Spray wd-40 all over that shit and you'll be fine. Then when you get back just hit everything with some steel wool.
