Hey guys, I'm kinda stumped with this one. I own a '92 coupe, ka24de.
Last night, I put a brand new clutch in, a used flywheel (good condition), changed out the pilot bearing and the throwout bearing, and bled the clutch, and im back to having slipping issues. What gives? Clutch point is high on the pedal, and the return is kinda soft, its not a super rapid return. Plenty of fluid in the master, trans has fluid, everything was torqued to spec and done right. Any suggestions? I really don't wanna re-rip out the transmission.. just wanna figure this out! :smash:

Did you resurface your flywheel? Not saying this is the issue just wondering. Stock clutch?

I bought the clutch from oreillys. It was perfect. but the flywheel wasnt resurfaced, it didnt need to be. It was barely used. I'm thinking the clutch pedal maybe? The points really high, and when I let off the clutch, it seems like its getting hung up then slowing down on its way back up

Something is not right. When you bolted down your pressure plate, did the clutch disk sit tight on there, without the aid of the alignment tool? Either your master or slave is on it's way out from the sound of it.

Thats the odd thing, the master i'm fairly certain is newer.. might be the slave? idk. just becoming a pain

if your slave dies though it wouldnt slip, it would just be engaged all the time. it sounds like maybe your pedal adjustment isnt set right.
Ive heard that its usually set wrong, i read how to do it on another forum but i cant remember. im sure a search would find the process. it shoudnt disengage until about midway through the pedal stroke. if it is disengaging early, that would probably mean the fork is pushing against the release bearing even without touching the pedal, and youre not getting full clamping power to the flywheel, hence slipping.
just a suggestion.

bleed from the slave cylinder not the damper box. (if you still have this.)
hard line runs to a damper box then gets re routed to the bleeder screw.
i guess what people do is unscrew the hardline from the damper box and then bend it straight to the slave cylinder.

slow return = master/slave issue, slipping issue = clutch/flywheel issue, two different things what is your issue? you engage clutch switch gears and it doesnt go?
