$1500- $2000 for the stupid timing chain fixer!! Went to 3 different Nissan Dealerships and all 3 told me that it was gonna run me almost 1800 bones for the fix!! So i am probably just gonna say fuck it, and keep saving and have the whole engine rebuilt! Any one else in STL know anyone who can do it cheaper?? Or any other places to get it done if i decide to still get it fixed?? Anyone have any ideas??? HELP!!

$1800 is what i've been hearing. i'm going to ask bier brothers in o'fallon to rebuild my engine. they deal with american cars mostly, but they've worked on my car before.
jeez they like to make us pay for their mistake ####..

for the engine rebuild, i've estimated 2000 with labor, that's with 10.5 compression, forged piston heads. i'm not sure where else to get the timing chain fixed, that's a tough one. hey maybe that other person from st. louis, gwong, may know.

Maybe he means that the timing belt broke, and he bent his valves. I don't know if valve clearance is an issue in Ka engines or not though.
dude, i dont know where you are but i had my timing chain done in August at Nissan and it was $836 cnadian taxes included...
the dealership was in Welland ontario and he was done in a day, \\also... when i called around nobody knew anyhting about the shit, when i called this guy at nissan before i was even finished asking he had the price and the parts and everything, he wsa real, real good....\
I am getting mine done for free -I have freinds who owe me money :)- but he told me that it was like an eight hour job. Even if the dealership charges $80 (which is a lot) it is still like $640 + parts. I don't know dude, $1800 seems like too much.
Just get a SR20DET, yea its another 1k more + Installation but its a whole new engine and tranny. Ride the timing belt until the day it dies, I sold my old 89 240sx @ 144k and the timing belt was making alot of noise right at startup, but it still drove fine.

Be careful about the timing chain job. . lots of people will try and rape you!! I was gonna get it done on my S13. .
a local shop wanted 1100. . I said "for 500 I can buy a fresher engine!!" They said "no. . those engines aren't less than 3000" haha stupid hilljacks. .
I was quoted about 600 . . parts and labor. . at another shop...
