my guess is total bullshit, products like these are often useless

there are a bunch of these products around now. The tornado is avertised on late night tv around here. I makes the air entering your throttle body spin in around like a tornado into your engine. It's supposed to increase air flown and creat more power and betting fuel economy.
I think that dumb people who don't understand how an engine works will love this product.

the problem is that you are putting an obstruction in the flow of air into your motor. aren't you trying to clean up that flow of air as much as possible in the search for more horsepower? doesn't make sense to me. if anything you should lose horsepower and gas mileage as the motor has to work harder to pull air into the combustion chamber past this stupid ass thing...

exactly
where's the dyno charts?...uhuh, that's what I thought.
"I honestly felt a 20hp gain" my ass.

i guess if you sit around and buy shit like that off tv commercials at night, you do probably have an oversensitive "butt-dyno"

I have heard that there are some advantages for having a little turbulence for air going into your turbo. But I think it would be much easier to accomplish by putting your intake near your turbo, instead of a straight pipe attached directly.. Or you could waste your money on a "vornado" or whatever it's called.

It is a good idea actually, cheverolet has something similar is there vans, not that big ugly and useless, but essentially at high RPMs there is a little fan that kicks in and assures that the flow of air through thei ntake is fast and smooth, I mean it is one of those things that will get you 2-3 hp over a regular ingen cold air intake, but as some of you may have felt, som cold air intakes create some turbulance in the tube around 6000 rpms and up and for a brief period your engine car starve (never seen this on a nissan, just other cars) so while the idea is good, that product look like some guy I saw who attatched a leaf blower to his intake....

Lol that leafblower thing reminds me of somethin. There was a guy around my area here with a Trans Am, that took the tubes off a leaf blower, wired up power to it and strapped it to his motor and said he had a badass "turbocharger", now that shit was funny, he even wired up the switch into his dash hehe.

"In a completely stock 99' Dodge Neon sport, I gained ten horses and went from 34-37 wheel hosepower to 44-47 wheel horsepower (using a G-Tech Pro performance meter). I have also noted (when I drive responsibly) a gain in gas mileage. I also lost a full second off my Quarter-mile times; from 16.8 to 15.8 and probably could have done better with more time with the G-Tech." -Francis Mize (Cincinnati,OH)

the meter gave him hp?

i guess he's talking about like...dyno tuning, but with a g-tech...what a total idiot.

and actually the concept IS correct, spoon sells these little widge gasket sort of things that go between the head and the intake manifold that alters the flow of the air and produces a dyno proves 7 or so HP. i just seriously doubt that this thing will give positive results, if any
