S13 Owners, is this normal?

I found an S13 I want to buy and if has this sealant on both sides inside the trunk/boot.

It looks aftermarket but Im not sure, if it is does it mean the cars been in an accident?

Any help would be great!

They may have tried to reapply the weather stripping stuff with sealant but its hard to understand what your talking about with out a picture.
just get under it look underneath, look at the strut towers, and the door and trunk gaps.

hmm does look like the car might have been hit. there is a slight upward kink in the sealant line as well as a slight bow inwards, The sealant itself is normal though. Nissan did use body sealant on our chassis's.
