I have a 240 with sr20 redtop motor and tranny, i replaced the rear transmission seal but the new one i got from z1 motorsports is a bit thinner for some reason, it fit right in but the seal went a bit deeper in, do they expand or something? i also bought what everyone says i can buy from a local parts store which was a domestic 240 rear trans seal and its the same thing. Kinda worried i gonna start a leaking again. Any other info just ask

If it leaks, replace it. If it doesn't, don't replace it. Its a ka seal also so you can get it anywhere.

did you put oil around the seal lip when you put it in also?

at least if it leaks again, you will be a pro at replacing. it is an easy job.

yeah its a KA seal but i just got concerned cuz its not the same thickness of seal that was in the transmission. I mean it fit it perfectly but it just went in deeper and is not a thick, hopefully its fine, ill find out i guess lol

the only dimensions that should matter are the exact outter and inner diameters. That ensures that it fits into the trans securely and seals the tail shaft properly. if those are correct it will not leak.
