Hey, So I have an S14 that has been my ongoing project, and this seems to be the last problem I need to fix before its ready to be my daily.. PLEASE HELP!

When driving in 1st or Reverse and I push the clutch pedal down quickly there is a very loud clunk that sounds like it is coming from either right underneath me, or from the rear. When i got underneath the car i noticed that i could push up on the back of the tranny and it will lift off of the rear mounting bracket. It seems like there should be no play there, but this is my first project and im still new to this.. any help would be greatly appreciated

People say it could be subframe bushings or possibly the differential bushings..
I don't know how to tell if a subframe bushing has gone bad, and they all don't look bad. And i put in an s13 differential which doesnt have bushings, so i feel like those wouldn't be the problem.

Thanks in advance for the advice!

Engine/ transmission mounts. Considering you can lift the trans up I'm gonna say trans mount. But it could be a combo of both

are you talking about the bellhousing bolts? or the engine mounts themselves?
and thanks for the input!

I'm talking about the rubber mount that goes I between your transmission and crossmember
