Here is the skinny...overheats after a while, no matter if there is air in the system or not...the oil light comes on at idle but goes off when you rev it a little bit, but there dipstick says there is too much oil...ummmm, it wont hold idle on its own - i have to "heel toe" while braking tso it wont shut off...no leaks that i can see, except the coolant out of the radiator cap after the overflow tank fills up...I have no idea.

p.s. - selling it ASAP

Too many upgrades @ once before the car even ran + the lack of knowledge is the downfall. Do not give up though, its too early in the race.

so your car has a problem, big deal man, but you know what i think you should sell it, becasue if you have one lil problem and that makes you wanna sell the car...you dont deserve to own something with the personality of a 240, go buy an old cavalier that you can just drive, most people actually love their 240's, but now you gotta deprive one person from having one, so you can hop in on the trend, and then decide to get rid of it.... :rl: :rl: :rl: :rl:
and i say this to you :fawk2: :fawk2:

sounds like a headgasket problem. And listen, I built a 412rwhp KA-T like 3 1/2 years ago and went through tons of problems, changed like 3 headgaskets etc. and every single time something went wrong, I hated the car and wanted to sell it. But once it was fixed and I actually got to feel the rush of that hp, all the negative thoughts went away. Stick with it, get it to a very experienced shop, spend thbe extra money and get the car fixed right. Once you get to drive it around at its full potential, you will forget all about the problems you have had.

Next time get a honda...it'll suit you much better.... :fawk2: :fawk2:
Bad oil pump could explain the oil light going it?...
Got an oil pressure gauge?
as for heat, did you check your thermostat? might be that too...

That pretty much what I'm about to say..except for the 412 hp KA-T
built up.. but i've gone to maybe 2 big bottle of Tylenol with my Rx7
and hate it countless time.. but when i say %^&$ it and put my head into making it run because I know i can...Then u can apriciate it once again...
that will never go away. HOWEVER if u decide to just dump a ton s of $$$
into a car that u have no idea if u will like it in the 1st place . U just jump on a POPULAR DRIFT or whatever they have with 240sx. then shame on u!! sell the car then get ur self something else that's already turbo. like EVO or SUBY and get the Hell out.
If u are not that kindda person i just said. get some tylenol and spent the night looking for the real trouble under ur hood..... Good luck just my .02 C :blah:

i wouldn't exactly call a 240sx with a sr in it a 'fast' car. quick maybe, but not fast. have you really learned anything? i hope you learned cars and racing is all about driver skill and mechnical DIY knowledge; not how much $$$ you can throw at a car. if you want reliability, don't get any kind of sports car. drive any car hard, and it WILL start to give you problems. there's nothing on the car some time, knowledge and elbow grease won't cure. do you have the desire to actually go through that and fix it yourself? if not, then sell the car to someone who will.
