Well, after 3 years of use and abuse in Illinois, my N1 duals are toast. The welds (which are obviously NOT stainless) on the stainless cans finally let go. I could probably get someone to fix them (sloppy), but I don't really care. I want something new. I want your opinions.

I'm thinking of something like the RS-R ExMag or something like that. Something more understated and less noisy. The duals are loud even with my SR20. I liked the sound for a while, but now it's just kind of annoying to have so much engine noise all the time.

So...opinions?

He wanted something more QUIET and UNDERSTATED. Not a damn straight pipe. That things gotta be louder than my DD.

Eric,

I honestly think the RSR Exmag is what you're looking for. It is a VERY high quality system in terms of welds and general construction. Very nice tone not loud at all. I reccomend it!

look at titianum exhausts. Those are light. Save up it would be worth it. about 20 lbs if not more extra weight your carrying around in those Dual canisters.

RS-R ExMag - 70/80mm
5zigen Border III (I have a slightly banged-up 70mm one FS if you're interested) -60mm/70mm
HKS Hiper - 70/80mm
Blitz Realize TT - 76.5mm

All quiet, clean, nice exhausts w/ mean-ass note when ya smash it. :D

No, I have the HKS hyper as well, its too loud to be classified with the others you listed. RS-R is the best.

Hmm...I might be able to do that. We'll discuss it when I get my new system. Sounds like the ExMag is the one for me. Thanks, guys!

UIUC240,

Don't count on getting the ExMag anytime soon... they've been on backorder for almost a year :P

And yeah, my friend has the HKS Hiper on his car, its pretty damn quiet...

Backordered for a year?

 WTF, mate? That's :ghey:

Oh well, maybe I'll just take the cheap route and see if someone can weld them back together for a few bucks. Puts me $500 closer to my new FMIC anyway... :bigok:

I member someone saying their N1 rusted from the inside out, even after coating the outside to prevent rust.

Stupid midwest weather.

Get the JIC Full TI... thats what I have... It looks nice and its quiet with the KAT... If I put the silencer in you basicly can't hear it...

Thats my vote... The greddy ti looks nice to but I dont think its catback.

I also just tried to order the RS*R Exmag, most places told me 6 week back-order. I ordered at 2 different places that said they could get it for me, and they had a good price. (modacar.com, hopupracing.com) Then a week later after each order, i have to call 4 times just to find out, "oh yeah it's back ordered for weeks". Bullsh*t, but i had my hopes up for that exhaust. Now i need to find something for my SR soon.

Loud? I don't get you guys. I have the Blitz NUR Spec R... I was scared because of what everyone said... but it's soooo freaking quiet with my SR. Maybe running around for two months open downpipe just made me immune though. =P

My duals have a nice sound. I like it. I've just had them for 3 years and I'm a little worn out on the tone. It's nice and aggressive, but I'm looking for something a bit more stealthy, and with more sound suppression. I could go and buy an A'pexi GT-Spec right now, and it would save me money over the ExMag. Plus, it would be the most performance possible (95mm piping!), but I'm really not that interested. Plus, it's huge and COMPLETELY fugly. I like the looks of the ExMag, and from what people say, it seems like it might fit the bill.

But if I can't get one for 6 months...fuk it. I'll just go to Meineke or something and have them weld my cans back together for now.

Moral of the story:

Even A'pexi welds are not immune to the abuse of midwest winters. NaCl is a biatch!

my friend has Nur spec R on his sr20det, its an amazing exhaust. I also think the invidia ones look like they are quality for the price.
If I was buying a new one my money would be after the buddy club group buy though... I like it loud.
