Ever since iv had my welded diff I always got used tires and just bought new ones today not used. Do you burn through the same amount as used?

.... You burn through tires no matter new or used.

Used tires are usually cheap and wear out fast. New tires, if you bought good ones, may last a little longer because the compounds are better.

with the welded diff a good alignment could help some. from what i've read, toe wears tires out as much or worse than camber.

:werd your gunna burn thru them no matter what it all depends on the tire some of my tires last 3 months some only lasted 1. Make sure you flip them before they wear down too much and you'll get double the life. Hope this helps

/\ this, without a doubt. Most guys look at a tire with a ton of inside edgewear, and think "Damn, that 2 degrees of negative camber is eating my tires alive!", when it's more than likely severe toe wear, caused by an incorrect alignment. If you have a staggered wheel/tire setup that keeps you from rotating the tires, and you don't drive the balls off the car all the time, you will notice some feathering/cupping which will cause a roaring noise in time. This goes the same for a welded diff, open diff, or LSD. If you want a balanced set of tires to last on an aggressively-aligned car, rotate them and flip them as necessary, and keep an eye on them.... or buy a corolla and drive that daily...

If you're installing a welded that means you're probably trying to drift. Drifting kills tires...

Aside from that, make sure you have a proper alignment. Toe kills tires the most.

Once you have that, tires should last you a while. Fore sure longer than a couple months.

And shop around for the best alignment shop you can find. Some shops have equipment that is only suitable for stock vehicles, and can't compensate for a lot of camber, or one that has caster issues. An extremely experienced tech will know how to apply the proper amount of toe in.

Running a Welded is fine... I've easily had a set last me a a full season. Just because your running a welded diff doesnt automatically mean your out tokyo drifting. Some of us like drag racing as well and welded is a cheap easy way to to get posi in the rear. If you want somethign a little less jittery though and easier on the tires, Just spend like 2-300 bucks and get a LSD out of a S13 / 14
