Hey anybody used Rain X? I used it and it worked great for the first couple of showers but then it suddenly got waxy like and was not very amusing to see through in the rain. Just wondering what any of your experiences were.
RainX is awsome, goin 60 in moderate rain w/out whippers is pretty cool...untill your winshield starts to look like this

hehe, yeah thats rain-x wax deposit mixed with 2 weeks of dirt <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> I think if you buff it right it won't do that but its a bitch to get off once it sets. So no, its not permanent, man would that suck :o

So, conclusion is that it's not a good idea to use it? In the long run.

Rain-X is AWESOME, but don't use the stuff in the bottle. Get winshield washer fluid with it in it, you should be able to find it at autozone, wal-mart or any place that has an automotive section. It doesn't leave any residue, and it's really beneficial in the winter because it keeps frost from depositing on your windshield. I used it last winter, and I never really had to scrape the front.
Well it was almost 80 today here in good 'ol VA so I don't think I'll worry much about scrapin the windshield <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'> But I'll check into that stuff, sounds good. Is it actually rain-x brand? 'Bout how much does it cost? Where do you put windshield whiper fluid? hehe j/k on that last one <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

when i used it, i got the same wax residue and the first rain...and it was a bitch to get off...i was just using water and soap...if you use sprite or coke...it comes off easier...but you will have to rinse your car down afterwards....sticky!!!
