I just hope you had a chance to do other stuff in Tokyo than just to go to TAS. Tokyo is one of those cities that you can spend 1 month there and still not hit up all the tourist spots. I'm not even talking about the other cool stuff thats not listed on a travel guide book.

Co-signed! There's so much to see and do. Last time I was in Japan it was for 2 weeks. 5 of the days were in Tokyo and it felt like I was missing out on stuff.

Ok I read it and enjoyed it! I feel your pain brother! I went through the same thing for years jumping around from shop to shop and its all the same bs and harassment. The best thing to do is stay positive and find a niche in the car world that you like whether its painting, building wheels, kits, motors and make a name for yourself. Working for the man will only get you so far. Or plan on being a bitch at the workplace for 5 years+ before you get any respect and an average salary.

Now, you went to TAS but no fucking pictures posted up...I'll give you a couple more days to post up piktars before I report this thread for being worthless!!! There better be pictures of show queens in there too, part of the TAS experience is acting like every pervert in the show that hoard around the models like white on rice.

Seeing that in person is creepy as hell. Real talk, I've never seen so many weird otaku pervs bust out the most expensive camera equipment that you've ever seen, at the drop of one of these girls standing next to a car.
Seriously, I didn't know if I should be laughing, feeling bad, or just trying to leave the scene.

Very true! I talked to Mike from DSPORT when we were walking around TAS. He said that sadly about 50% of the people who do come in, only do so for the girls. There are more people crowding around girls than they do crowding around the cars.

I can believe this... Heck at HKS Premium race weekend, there were Race Queen mooks you could have bought, profiling the various girls.
CREEPY....

Shit, they took pictures of ANY girls. If you were in TAS and you're a girl, theyll take a picture of you just for the hell of it. Lost track how many times I took a picture of my wife and somebody else was taking a picture of her...now that's being a fucking creepy creeper...

Very interesting read! Its amazing how many "managers" really have no clue how to manage their employees. I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors. You seem to be pretty ambitious and that's a good thing. Keep on trucking, stay true to what you love and you will eventually find your place! BTW I went to TAS for the first time this year and yes it really was amazing!

^^ This. I'm getting a degree in Business Admin. with a focus in management, and I can tell you that is never the way to go about "motivating" your employees. Employee loyalty can go a long way.
I enjoyed your story a lot, you remind me a lot of myself. I too hope to end up with a job in the automotive field, but I'm going about it a different way. I sit in class all day dreaming about turning wrenches hah. As the end of my last year is coming to close, if you asked my if I would do it again, I would say no.
Why not pursue photography? You obviously have a lot of talent.

yzrider450f: It is nice knowing someone who understands what I was struggling through. You almost have to open your own shop to get away from outside politics. Every
[email protected] thing I do is almost a conflict of interest with my boss. But in the end of the day, he needs the guys working on the floor to make his money. I plan on going back to school as well. I'm leaning more towards a business degree.
Glade you liked my pic. lol, thanks but not sure if I can get really hard core into it.
[email protected]: Thanks for reading! Staying motivated and upbeat can be a challenge at times, but you are right. I can't stop doing what I love. Even if my place wasn't at the dealer. BUT, Tokyo Auto Salon was epic! This trip was a definate privilege, not everyone has the opportunity to go to Japan. Being a car enthusiast, we all talk and dream of going to the land of JDM. It has always been at the top of our never ending to do list.
*Heres a teaser pic ;)*

Like I said...keep it in this thread. Was I psychic when I said its gonna get locked? Shit straight out got deleted and merged in here. Dont try to make a another thread...quickest way for you to get pinked, specially after you've been given the heads up. All you're gonna do by making another thread is add to the clutter around here...

Sorry guys, never updated due to family and personal situations. I need almost a whole weekend to myself to edit and upload pics. I'm around Zilvia rarely at times, selling stuff on the "for sale forums" for those who notice. Surprised to see somebody interested in this post, after thinking that it was dead. Didn't catch on like some of those who roam around car build forums but I'll continue to update this thread sometime next month. Thanks :)

Thank you Sir. Im not rich but, I swiped everything on credit card when I went. Right after it took me a few years to pay it off. I looked back and asked if I had made anything of myself, or had anything to show for, on all of the things I spent now that it's paid off? In the long run its worth saving everything you have and putting it towards one big ticket item. Going to Japan on a once in a lifetime trip was my ticket item. That was something I wont regret spending money on.
