Get a stock car as much as possible. At least you have the factory service manual to deal with problems by the book. Modified cars are too much pain in the butt and most of the time they are sold because either it got too expensive (because they didn't do it right anyways) or couldn't get it to work right.

i think opinion threads are fucking useless.

if YOU like it, then YOU buy it.

why do you care what the opinion of a bunch of strangers on the internet is?

if you are looking for advice about what to look for in a used car, it is YOUR job to do the research, not OUR job to spoonfeed you.

3000$ for a RB20 swapped. I mean that isn't a bad price since some people ask more for rust bucket stock beaters.

American people will say that is a good price because they don't have easy access to RB20 engines. Its some myth lore that its a god engine that is perfect. Honnestly, its not.

I paid $5000 for my stock 240 in Edmonton about 5 years ago. Why? It had under 90,000kms, and zero rust. Owned by two older women that had regular maintence done. AKA< the perfect chassis for my final 240sx. (i've owned 3 before)

Don't buy someone elses project that you will forever have to be tinkering with...unless you have a daily driver anyways. Don't drift or race your daily either.

I preach this quote to alot of people I talk to that are wanting a 240 as a first car, or as a daily. And there never seem to listen no matter how serious I look them in the face and tell them not to.

I wouldn't buy a already swapped S-Chassis unless it was dirt cheap like $1500 or less cheap. I'd even be iffy to buy a S Chassis that comes with a swap on the side.

Basically man. If its cheap its for a reason. Too many 240's have been bought by 16ish year old kids, half assed put together, and then sold on Craigslist advertising parts the car doesn't even have. I've recently met a local guy who bought one with a SR, and he was told if was tuned with a built short block with over sized pistons, etc. and it's just a stock SR with a safc and a narrowband.

Just save yourself the headache and buy something stock. I cannot stress that enough.

your question answered!. look at the car, it looks like its been slapped togather. if u ask me it looks more of a burden than a bargain :-/ . honestly in my personal opinoun id start from scratch rather than buyin some one elses project. should be built not bought, but thats just me. what ever floats your boat

just as everyone is stating. START STOCK. when you finally finish the car and can look what you car came from and KNOW FOR SURE it was done right because you either did it yourself or watched other people put it together for you the right way, it will be so much more satisfying. make the right decision and take the long to having a built car :)

Shit, 300000 kms, thats like 186k miles. My current S14 had 190k when I bought it. Then again, I only paid $2500 for it.
