uh first wu tang, nas and mobb deep are never played on TRL, second that song "DIDDY" has a insane beat BY THE NEPTUNES, besides i didnt' even say puffy, I don't listen to will smith, and Snoop dogg did put gangsta rap on the map. just because music isn't that indie rock stuff doesn't make it lame

for real i cant stand shit like TRL, or most popular music. why? because pretty much all popular music is fake. you dont get a record deal, and you dont get to be big without alot of support form the record label. sure i like some bands that did, but i wouldnt really say slayer and pantera got that much support, sine they were deemed unacceptable for the most part, and pretty much anyone else on my list has zero exposure. i dont mean to sound like an elitist fuck, but in general, popular music sucks, especially lately

NO. first of all, i have to say that i don't agree w/ that at all n think that u r the one w/ the "higher than thou" ego due to that post. most of the time when a band enters the mainstream category, their music gets watered down n isn't "pure" like it is w/ a lot of indie bands. they r now appealing to a larger group of ppl n need something poppy so that more ppl will like it and they can sell their records n make money, this can be for ne category of music. true, there r still some bands out there that can be classified as mainstream and still have decent music, this is just for the most part. don't want to make this long, but ur comment really irritated me b/c i hate when ppl say stuff like that since there is so much more good music out there when u compare the musical talents of many "indie bands" to "mainstream" bands. i think that just like cars, music is getting worse by the day, especially when u c that stuff on TRl , there r always exceptions though of course. neway, here's my list of the mainstream bands i like cuz i just like good music (to me) n it doesn't have to be classified by ne different categories or try to be different as u put it niseslut.

sublime, nirvana, green day, weezer, red hot chili peppers, foo fighters, smashing pumpkins, jimmy eat world, 311.

btw, i don't c nething wrong w/ kid zeldas or duffmans comments cuz have u atually seen TRL lately? it's sad...

Right on blankflip!

its like all these Boy bands, man I wish I could be in one, I would be just be pimping all these 8-17yrd girls from their money, buyin up all my CD's,toy dolls, sending money to my fan club, buying backpacks with my face of it...etc....... And why do they make money...becuase they target young girls who will bug their parents to buy them everything that "Kid Zelda and the Zelda 5" have to sell.

And those boy bands all know inside that they are just a gimmik.....its all for the nookie...right!

I dislike the music of these boy bands......but I love the way they market.......

BlankFlip

honestly, i'm surprised that many of these boy bands n pop groups r still around. years ago i thought they'd be non-existant, but they keep coming back w/ "good music," that us, the targeted audience, still love. just don't understand it.....

No favourite "bands" at mo. I agree with you guys its all record companies with their hands up talentless popstars ars*s like puppets at mo. There are some good bands but no-one i`m blown away by although I got some Foo Fighters albums recently and really like it.
I`m into getting the trance/club compilations at mo like

Cream (Big Liverpool{where i am} Club renowned around Europe) Anthems.
Cream Live.
Breakdown Ibiza .
Ibiza Euphoria.
True Euphoria.
Trance Nation.

Generally all the trance coming out of the Clubs.
This is CREAM----

THE "BEATS" STIE BOYS... regardless of what u like u absolutely must admit that every band wants to be them because they are the greatest band of our generation, never will sell-out, never will care about the "mainstream", always will write great music and have rap, rock and mello beats on every album...

much respect, i like other bands, but i'd rather hang out with the beastie boys than any one else, they are actually intelligent as well...

in "pass the mic" video, they shoot a scene in the reflection of a big chrome rim, nutty...

For me, lately System of A Down is consistently in my Cd player, Kool Keith, Krs-ONE/Boogie Down Prodictions, Deftones, Incubus, Xzibit, Mudvayne's pretty cool to listen to while I am working out, some random stuff here and there, the one's worth mentioning were mentioned.

Now for the TRL knock. Kid Zelda is right, TRL is sad, but hey, that's why it's on at 4pm, kids out of school at 2 and 3. Tired of the Pop stuff myself. But there will always be pop music, so we'll all just have to deal with it.

Japanese:
Hamasaki Ayumi
Utada Hikaru
Kuraki Mai
M-Flo (hip-hop)

Korean:
Drunken Tiger (hip-hop)
SES
FinKL

Hip-Hop:
Old school A Tribe Called Quest
Blackalicious
Mos Def
Talib Kweli
Redman (the man sure knows how to have fun with his lyrics and music videos)
Wu-Tang Clan (must...get...Ghostface's new CD...)

...and I've grown a liking for the "ticky-tack-tack", randomly off rhythm beats that Timbaland creates ever since I heard "Up Jumps The Boogie" by Timbaland, Magoo, Missy Elliot, and Aaliyah WAY back in 1997. The newer beats he's got are even more fun. Is it just me or does Magoo's voice sometimes remind you of Q-Tip from A Tribe Called Quest? They both sound like they inhaled helium.

I could list a lot more, but I listen to various hip-hop artists here and there like The Arsonists (check out their song "Languages Arts"!), Hieroglyphics, Aceyalone, The Pharcyde, Mobb Deep, Jurassic 5, Busta Rhymes (yea...he's mainstream, but lyrically, he's still decent, gotta give him that). Just not enough of each to call my "favorite".

takumi i dont know that much J-pop and korean music, but i do know that FinKL is f'ing hot as ####. I love timbaland's beats too, he's gotta be one of the greatest producers out there. I've always loved DJ Paul from 3-6 mafia too, i guess because they're local, but they pretty cool, always done their own thing as far as rap goes, ever since the late 80's.

another rapper im really fond of is busta rhymes. he has some pretty cool music, and hes just downright hilarious

Needless to say, I like rock, metal (not too heavy, Tool and Linkin' are as loud as I like), country (old style, this new pop-country should be shot in the groin, repeately, with a small caliber weapon, then bludgeoned to death with a stirring spoon), and. . .. uh. . . all sorts of stuff. . .

I like a few of their songs because it reminds me of the summer I spent with my (now X) girl.

As far as music I like, basically everything. Incubus is on the top of my list, dave matthews, ben folds five, tool, type o negative, primus, 311, chilli peppers, REM, Dave Bruebeck, Agents of Good Roots, Alicia Keys, Angel Lee, Dieselboy, Future Cut, Bad Company (the Jungle producer), Dido, Sarah Mclaughlin, Nine Inch Nails....

Ok you wanted to know the truth about Limp Bizket, ok, I check all my old files and found it, this is told by Circus of the Shapes, check it out:

ok now ........

not to talk @#%$ or any thing , but let me tell you all why we dissed these guys on our album .... not because i just think there muzak is whak , but ..... check it ..... dj leathal was from house of pain .... he isnt even irish .... # 1 ... he is the master mind behind limp bizket .... he was fresh off the boat from russia .... he moved to hollywood ca ..... dj rob one & meck (cbs/shape shifters fame) taught him how to scratch & every thing there is to know about hip hop .... (as told by them) .... he used to walk around beverly hills with his LA RAIDERS & black KINGS hat on in 90 degree weather ..... any ways , when house of pain blew up ? myself & meck rolled up to the holywood paladium when they were all large , we saw dj lethal & asked him if he could get us in to the show & he totally fronted on meck & acted like we were all jocking him ..... after house of pain fell off & disappeared .... the members broke up & went their seperate ways ..... dj lethal discovered this punk rock/metal band from florida named "limp bizket" ... he took them under his wing and trained them how to be more like "rage against the machine" & trains a jock how 2 rap , like a puppy how to piss on news paper & prepared them for a hollywood major label deal ..... any ways .... "mear" another artist from cbs was making t shirts designs for an underground line of clothing comming from la called CONART .... while OD was producing the album "beneath the surface" ? he asked me if i would like to do the album cover .... i told him that there was this dude from my crew "mear" who was really dope & that he should do it instead , so i took od to his house 2 look at his paintings & i took mear to the good life & he met the freestyle fellowship ... etc ... & thus it was born .... celestial picked up "beneath the surface" ... & so mear has been doing their album covers ever since .... (im not trying to claim credit for all these peoples success , but this is how it went down)...... any ways limp bizket calls up the CONART studio & says "we see this guy mear & we want this street type of graffitti look for our album cover , they ask him to paint a picture of fred looking all b-boyish" (by the way , look at their first album cover or their first video & check out the graff on there ... ha ha ha ! i dont care what any of you say , these guys were never dope) they had a mojor deal & had lot of money to offer him ..... money that none of us could ever offer him for an album cover ... so he did it & i cant really blame him , he works hard ..... we all knew that they were fake , & so we never thought that they would blow up ... but i realise it now , thats what people eat up .... an image .... it was all payed for , just like method man ...... they have millions of dollars to run their adds pushing that crap hard all over KROQ (wich is owned by mtv) & in the mid west , where kids are unfamiliar with the real @#%$ going on in LA , so ? they blow up all huge on TRL with carson daily etc . .... thus puff daddy verses ozzy is born "jiggy rap metal was invented" as if tons of other un heard of groups wernt already doen this stuff years before" (also ... LA JAE who is more currently dj-ing for the shape shifters) was working with group in new york called "the shinning paths" these guys were doing this @#%$ so long ago & a better job may i add .... dj lethal came into one of their recording sessions & wanted to turn a few knobs on the work that they had already done , & so call "discover them & put his name on their album as producer credits" (their album can be found on www.theworldofhiphop.com ....... these guys jump on the band wagon as if to be pioneers of a brand new art form ..... bull @#%$ ! this a perfect example of some body who has never touched a can of spray paint , or ever bust a freestyle at an open mic in his life , chillen on yo mtv raps on a special about "white rappers" throwing fred durst in the line up with the likes of kid rock , emenem , third bass & the beastie boys .... now to rap this up ..... limp bisket approaches mear to do their second album cover (& we were giving him mad @#%$ for it) .... but once again its rediculouse money , that he cant really pass up .... so ? he works on this piece for their next album & submits it to them ... & they reject it , & say that they dont like it ?! so mear then does a second one & submits it to them again .... and they reject it again ... & they tell him to do it again ..... & so mears tells limp bisket to @#%$ off ! & he takes their money ...... (so the inside scoop told to me by mear himself) ..... mear was curiouse to see what the album art would actually finally look like ..... their new album drops ...... on the cover , there is a picture of 4 naked guys representing the members of limp bisket .... the four naked guys are sitting on a pile of "hot dogs" ..... ok ? one of the naked guys is holding up a "star fish" .... the center of the star fish ?.... resembles a "butt hole" .... now get this .... are you all ready ? ..... the tital of their album is .............. any body ? ...... THE CHOCOLATE STAR FISH & HOT DOG FLAVORED WATER !...... go see it for your self , as limp bisket would say ..."just think about it" ..... ha ha ha ha ha !
so ? thats why we dissed these guys on our album "adopted by aliens" on celestial with a cut called "korn bizkit" ...... cause these heavy metal cats who think they can pick up a mic & just rap ? are just trying to capitalise on the whole hip hop under ground culture ..... & their entire image is owed to us & members of cbs .... they are trying to represent some thing that they know nothing about .... & they are becomming sucessfull at it & making millions of dollars , because the majority of the population ? just buys that @#%$ up , cause they dont know the real deal ..... and groups like us ? just get swept under & will never get the coverage that they do , cause we are all broke as @#%$ ! & this guy never once shouted out any thanks yous on their album , to meck , or dj rob one ..... & dj rob one lived & died for this @#%$ !.... & never got the props he deserved ..... but let me tell you ... this @#%$ aint over ..... beware on the look out for "the revenge of dj mc nsane kid korn bizkit" the story of the struggle of the tuff life trials & errors & what it was like as the only white kid growing up in the ghetto , comming some time in the future .... bark at the devil !

peace out yalls

Here are a few more tales:
yes , Ian Mckay will probably see more money off of fred durst doing a cover of Fugazi's "waitting room" than the group did from their original release . thats the sad fact . this seems to be their pattern , taking some thing that is already genuine & putting their own twist on it . most people who listen to limp bisket ? will think that they wrote this song .... cause most of these kids ? dont even know who "Fugazi" is . there isnt a law that says that you can not cover a song , the only law that there is ..... is that if a band does a cover song ? the person who originally wrote the song , gets royalties from the sales . limp bizket = these guys are constantly , trying to make them selves more credible , but if you think about it , the song that first made these guys famouse ? was .... anybody ? ..... george michels "faith" ..... ha ha ha ! but any ways ..... i aint trying to be a hater , cause "hate is all the world has ever seen lately"...... im just tired of these suckers rape-ing all of this underground culture & running to the bank with it , while they put on this whole show & play the roll of the "nobody likes me , it sucks to be the under dog guy" ..... while they are gainning fame & credit off of every body elses sweat & tears ....... they are just a cover band .... im not trying to tell any body to stop making music , but these guys are not true artists , they are just business men . and so now ..... you got this whole generation of kids who are starting up there rap metal korn bizket bands , who dont even know what real hip hop or hard core is , they think its "limp bizket"..... its whak !!!!! limp bizket is funded .... & was created by the government !!!!

Some more:
i like sublime , they got sum cool stuff , i did a show with these guys a long time ago before they blew up , every one at the show hated me though . ha ha ha ! we are currently recording at the studio where all the sublime & skunk records @#%$ is recorded at , "the transducer" who produced the "korn bisket" track & other shifters @#%$ , got a job there as an engineer , its haunted by the ol ghost of bradly nole , me & awol are opening up for the long beach dub all stars , like in a month or so , but ..... me & awol did a show in long beach a couple of months ago ..... and guess who was there to see us ? ........ the bass player from korn "feildy"... (this dude has a solo rap album comming out) oh no ! ha ha ha ! we were laughing & pointing at him , saying look its him "nsane kid korn bizket".... these guys are from bakers feild .... they blow up & move to long beach , so they can go on mtv & say "im from da LBC" .... ha ha ha ! he was sitting right in front of us ... & after we did like 2 or 3 cuts ? he got up & walked out .... boo ! they think cause they wear adidas & have corn rows & they pose all hard on posters with low rider bikes n @#%$ , that its hip hop ?! come on , sheesh ! give me a brake , they look all confused ....... oh i almost forgot ? the biggest one of all !!!!! .... crazy town ! this dude from that group used to come around to all these events & stand there & watch ... he would hang out with people from cbs & awr graff crews , he would always tell me how he has this rap group ... blah blah blah , but always make up some excuse why he wouldnt get up & bust .... these guys are from beverly hills ! and his parents hooked him up with a record deal for millions of dollars !!!!! he never used to have any tatoos ? next thing you know ? they are on mtv & kroq ?! i never heard him rap , untill i saw him on mtv ?! and now he has all these tatoos !!! the funniest thing is ..... if you go to their web site ? it says some thing like "where south central meets beverly hills" .... ha ha ha ha ! ... man , i got all kinds of these stories .... i can go on for days ...... but it just pisses me off

Another good one:

werd ... mr. bungle .... that stuff is pretty fresh ! a long time ago ... some body was trying to set up a show with us & them & the long beach all stars ..... butt ?? just like a lot of things ... it never happened ..... some body from "cypress hill" saw us open up 4 "del & hieroglyphix" at the "palice" & they had told one of us that they wanted shape shifters to play at this years "smoke out" ... but once again , that @#%$ aint happening ?! .................................. but all that aside ...... im not mad at the fact that the whole rap/metal phanomina is blowen up .......... im just mad that ive been doen this @#%$ for more than a decade & all these suckers are taking all the credit , while i still live at home with my moms & pops .... while i watch these suckers on "mtv's cribs" chillen in their mansions in the hollywood hills (when they are originally from butt @#%$ else where & they have only been around for 5 years) , standing in front of graffitti that we did in magazine their adds & their album covers , wearing shirts that my homies made ..... wearing kangol hats & shell toes , with fashionable dread locks like they are rastas the kotten mouth kings rolling around venice beach with pit bulls driving around in low rider cars in their videos trying to act like cholos from LA , when they are from orange county .... etc ...... the @#%$ is stupid whak ! plain & simple . trying to front like they live the life style , but they bought that @#%$ on melrose ........ i saw 311 in this japoneese magazine standing in front of some of our graff , trying to pose all b-boyish .... its funny , you dont see them doing that in any american mags ...... its funny they dont do stories on the people who really make this music or the art ........ do you know why people support these artists ? cause they dont really know the truth about it ?......... so ...... who represents this culture ?..... the answer is ....... KROQ bands , merriah kerri , back street boys & candy ravers ..... not mcs , not djs , not graff artists , not real b-boys ..... thats all im trying to say ............ good music .... is ..... good music .... what ever it may be .......wheeewhooo !

Wu-tang relatedone (Riza)..hehehe:

so much good stories . this is great !.... i saw the "rizzah" with the grave diggers in down town LA a couple of years ago..... at this show & he must have been mad faded or some thing ? he did a couple grave digger tunes & he was dissing the visionaries & all the other acts that went on before him .... & then , all he did for like an hour ? was preach , about the "gawds" he was dissing mexicans & white people .... and then sum kids were getting all mad & leaving , saying "booo !".... and then he tryed to change his story around once he realised that most of the audience was whites & mexicans ..... he said "oh every one has the capability to be a gawd ... even white boys".... ha ha ha ! this @#%$ was soooo funny ..... then he says "mexicans are cool , i love their bitches".... or something on that level ..... then all he was talking about was how he wants some groupies to come back to his hotel room so they can suck on his dillz .... the other mcs walked off the stage , they didnt preform any more jams .... & people were all pissed walking out & talking @#%$ ..... but even more funny ..... there were the couple of kids who were there .... just buying every word of it ! ha ha ha ha ! hay , we shouldnt be talking @#%$ , he might want to bite our necks with da gold fangs ! protect yah necks !!!!

One more for the road (some Wu-tang related):

we opened up 4 kool keith ..... and he raps over his own vocal tracks (mili vanilli style) ha ha ha !... wow , i couldnt believe that . i was back stage at this wu tang / mos deff show ...... it was at the orange show , in orange county ..... and they got these lil golf carts that they use to go from place to place ... but any ways .... the distance from the back stage , to the main stage , is like the distance of walking across the street on an average city block (maybe slightly more) but my friend was working at this event , & so i was talking to her .... & next thing you know "mos def" comes up to her while we were talking ..... & he is demanding that she conjurs up one of those "golf cart things" so that he can be driven up to the stage .... oh no ! we just looked at each other and started laughing ...... i guess he is like the pope or the fresh prince or sumthin ?...... and to top it off ..... there wasnt that many people back stage ..... so when wu tang finally got there , all these wu security gaurds came in first & started bossing every one around telling us to clear a path & all that .... but the funny thing was ?... was that nobody really cared ..... no body was even trying to bum rush the wu .... i guess they just wanted to make some sort of rock star appearence

thats a bit long. this dude needs some lessons in grammar, i guess he's too "Tru 2 da game" to speak engrish...anyways, good stories. his opinions on shit like limp bizkit are definately hit the nail on the head. they'd sound alot more credible if he'd actually write properly, though. I had seen limp bizkit about 5 years ago, and they sucked then, too. I used to think Korn was pretty spiffy, but then they too released a whole "rap metal" album and they fucking suck ass. just sick of bands that get big on record label money. teeniebopper shit is all it is

crystal method, and of course.............

THE "BEATS" STIE BOYS... regardless of what u like u absolutely must admit that every band wants to be them because they are the greatest band of our generation, never will sell-out, never will care about the "mainstream", always will write great music and have rap, rock and mello beats on every album...

much respect, i like other bands, but i'd rather hang out with the beastie boys than any one else, they are actually intelligent as well...

in "pass the mic" video, they shoot a scene in the reflection of a big chrome rim, nutty...

the backstreet boys all drive civics... sorry im way out of line

don't get me wrong...i think the beastie boys are a good band...but the fact that they won't play some of their old songs because they believe their music is a little more "mature" gives me second thoughts...why would you be ashamed of the songs the made you who you are??? sorry...just my two cents...

i like red hot chili peppers and head p.e.

the beastie boys have now been "enlightened". they don't think there old shit is politcally correct any longer. on tour they wouldn't let prodigy play smack my bitch up. i like there old shit but also respect what they are doing religously now with the buddhist shit.

i was listening to license to ill the other day, i must say some of it is kind of immature (not all the songs) i can understand why they wouldn't play some of them, but prodigy's smack my bitch up? that was on the news when it first came out, the record company said the phrase meant doing something extreme or something to that extent.

I have favorites.....just not bands of any sort.....

Paul Van Dyke
Paul okanfold
ATB
Slim shady and D12 ('cause they hate boy bands)

Stuff that I'm partial too.

Alice Deejay CD
That linking part stuff playing in the rally video.

Anything with a good beat (could be anything from rap to my music Merengue, Salsa and Bachata)

Ps. dave2u I'm going to look up you're music 'cause I love Trance .

Haha....well, check out Drunken Tiger. They MC in Korean and English. They're pretty cool. It's just sometimes their bars would cause you to ask yourself, "WTF did that mean?" Most of the time, their English rap songs are pretty fresh.

Get this song called "Blues", it might be called "Boom Bap". The lyrics are pretty cool on that one.

Hey takumi... where can I get some really good quality Initial D DL's?

Uh.....man, I knew this handle name would come back and haunt me.

Drifting Ricer: Yup, Super Eurobeat music rocks. Too bad all of it is repetitive. If you listen to as much SEB as I do, it'll seem like it's just only 10 songs, but remixed a few hundred times.

240enthusiast: Hmm..you can get a program called "Direct Connect" and log-on to an anime server. Then after that, the program will run like Napster, Kazaa, or Morpheus. You just run a search for Initial D and that's where you can get 'em. Or you can buy the DVD boxed sets from eBay. Just make sure you buy it from a guy with a good rating. They're cheap too. I think it's $50 for all 26 episodes of 1st Stage, then around $30 for 2nd Stage (13 episodes), $20 for Extra Stage or the 3rd Stage movie. It's better if you watch it in that order. 1st, 2nd, Extra, 3rd. Cuz Extra ties in with 2nd Stage and 3rd Stage at the same time. It sorta falls in between the two time lines.

Oh ####, for $65 you can get the entire thing on DVD with Extra Stage AND the movie here.

BID NOW! If I had the money, "I" would. I only have 1st Stage on VHS and Extra Stage on a CD, which is now damaged. ;_;

Uh...man, you can't believe how many times I've been asked this. =/ It's unbelievably hard to find an AE86 that's cheap and not looking like it's falling apart. Even finding a hatchback hachi roku is tough. Besides, I'm a Silvia guy anyway. Weird huh? Maybe that'll be a side project when I graduate from college in a couple years and have some money to spend. Steve Nakamura (of Advanced Motorsports) already did a "Fujiwara Tofu Shop" hybrid panda Trueno. Nuts.

They sure are. My friend has 'em and they look nice. They're not official DVD's since they're "fan" subbed by an independent group, so sometimes you'll see a plug for their website in between scenes, and some grammar errors (like Engrish). Other than that, they're really good.
