That's fucking right. Shatterproof screen protectors. Now I'm not saying go throw your phone as hard as you can. Anything hit with enough force WILL break.
I have one of these on my iPhone 5. You can literally hammer the shit out of your phone, or hit it with a large object, and the screen won't break. Its made of tempered glass. Purpose is to protect your phone against drops and stuff.
These barely hit the market. You won't find them in any store. We signed a contract to distribute them to Fry's Electronics, and they won't have em for a month or two. I'm not sure how their gonna price them. I'm pricing them at $30 a piece, shipped anywhere in the US. I only have a couple pieces for iPhone 4/4s, iPhone 5, and Samsung Galaxy S3. Will eventually have them for the Galaxy Note 2. Will probably have more of em in a couple weeks. Anyone interested??
So, for people that want to buy one. I want to keep this organized. If a bunch of people start hitting me up, I want to make sure I ship every ones out on time.
-Send me $30, and in the message, tell me what phone and how many (30 a piece).. They are crystal clear, but I may have some black and white ones. Ask me if you want one of those. Make sure your PayPal has the correct name, address, etc. I'll try to ship out every day for the next couple days. As soon as I run out, I'll edit the OP and ask to stop sending payments and what not, and I'll update if or when I get more.
Thanks! You guys will be impressed for sure!

I don't want to mislead anyone..Its not solid glass, its a flexible strip of something called 5H. Feels like its plastic. Heres one for the S3.

There won't be no video. A smack with a hammer will definitely crack your screen and crush internals. If you want a thick screen and more protection, buy an otter box. It has saved my phone countless times. Still no cracks or scratches.

dibs on a 4s one
very nice niche product.
did you develop this? or was it some manufacture over sea?
you need to get the legal rights for the distribution of these, and possibly brand the item under your own name.
phone accessories have the best margins. good luck.

These have been out for a while now.
They have been proven a hoax in South Korea, already.
Actually, they induced the OEM glass to break even more, versus a standard film.

A good family friend actually developed it. When he first started, the prototype was a super thick peice of glass! I had that on my phone for a while. One day, to prove it was shatter proof to a friend, I hit it as hard as I fucking could. The screen didn't break. Turn that shit over, and it had smashed straight through the back.
This is more cost effective, and works just as well. It absorbs the shock of getting hit.
So, for people that want to buy one. I want to keep this organized. If a bunch of people start hitting me up, I want to make sure I ship every ones out on time.

That's where they came from.
Yikes, already giving out too much info.
And I'm not sure how their a hoax?? If I can go at my iPhone with a hammer, I'm pretty sure it works.
yeah, i was pretty impressed with how it held up with that hammer blow. there was some force to it. the glass seems pretty thick, you dont get any digitizer problems?
jdhariwal

Its super thin. As you can see in the pic, its super flexible.
Regarding digitizer problems...no, haven't had any, and this phones been hit a bunch of times... but remember that the point of this is to absorb shock from DROPS. It's not to have the ability to abuse the shit out of your phone and hit it with a hammer. If you keep hitting it with a hammer, I'm sure its sending harsh vibrations through the phone..but never had a problem with it.

i only wish phone companies from learn from this and just make their screens out of this material instead of my fragile crap -____-
bump for you OP. do you still have S3 ones?

Pretty sure I can find some s3's laying around. If not , I'll have more next week.

This might distribute shock from front impact. But if a phone is dropped and the corner absorbs the impact it will still ripple through the lcd and crack it.
Screens have two layers digitizer (front glass, touch part) and lcd. This would not brace the lcd in anyway when dropped.
I would love to see some r&d proof to prove otherwise.
Does seem like a lot of potential here.

My boss dropped his on concrete a bunch of times for a video, not even a dent. But I see what you mean. It would have to fall on the perfect spot, with just enough force.

04-01-2013, 11:09 PM
Yea i saw the vid.
See how he purposely drops face first tho. Any side or corner impact would in theory still crack the lcd
U have me sold of u can do some different drop vids
alright look, there is NO full proof way of not cracking your screen at all, if there is enough force applied to it.

0_o Holy carp!
I'd totally get this if I wasn't a geek that was waiting for an excuse to rip apart his phone... lol
Maybe when I upgrade to a new phone, or rebuild my old one with an aftermarket housing... haha
I did share your thread on my Facebook though. ;)
Good luck with sale! :D
