Description: This super clean car is up for sale and was featured in numerous blogs and Super Street Magazine (June 2012) / SUPERSTREET ARTICLE (http://www.superstreetonline.com/features/sstp_1206_1994_mazda_rx_7/viewall.html) /
Countless hours, dollars, blood, sweat and tears were invested in this project. I think it would be safe to say that this one of the cleanest 2JZ-Swapped FD's in the country if not the world. The projected started out with a very clean roller with very clean interior and original paint.

The 2JZ swap: To shoehorn this big motor into such a little car required a lot of painstaking man hours and planning. Custom sub frames, engine mounts, wiring and brackets were all fabricated. By no means was this a drop the engine in and plug and play setup. There is a reason why you do not see many 2JZ Rx7's and when you do they are normally hack jobs on poor quality rollers. Most of the brackets and fabrication were done at Fortune Auto Service and Tuning. FREED Engineering (2JZ Swap Specialist) finished up the remain fab work and intricate wiring with this project. From the inception of this project we wanted a reliable running car and that is why we insisted on getting the oem Toyota ecu to control the motor. So there are no funky cold start or idle issues.

Exterior: The FD RX7 is one of the most beautiful modern Japanese cars to be produced. We wanted to stay true the car and make sure that none of the beautiful lines would be covered with a body kit or excessive exterior modifications. The car is very simple and elegant, yet aggressive. We also wanted to run a fitted wheel/tire combo while retaining performance. So there is no crazy camber and stretched tires here. Just 1 off custom CCW LM20 wheels 18x9.5 / 18x11 shod with meaty 245/35R18 & 285/30R18's.

Interior: The same philosophy has carried over to the interior. We wanted to keep things classy and elegant since the interior of the FD was very ahead of its time and is even considered modern looking today. The seats have been re-wrapped in leather and suede, finished off with red stitching to match the red stitched Nardi steering wheel. We also did not want gauges all over the place so we have a custom mounted eboost controller that controls boost and displays boost pressure. The apexi AFC controller is hidden away in the glove box.

Paint: This car had NO paint work when purchased. A aftermarket hood was added to the vehicle to accommodate the larger 2JZ engine. The hood and headlights were professionally painted to match the rest of the car. The paint as you can see in the pictures is pretty on point and in superb condition.

Well shit. Never thought I'd see this up for sale. How much power is the car making? I see it's running the stock ecu still.
I have one of these as well, still being worked on though. Good luck with the sale, WELL worth the price for how clean this car is. FREED does some good work as well.
Cheers!

Agreed. Mine is built for 800hp, thats obviously way too much, especially for these little cars. I was looking at around 400-450, now thats a good number to keep it at.

Damn that's sexy and damn that's a lot of money for a 22 year old car lol

06-16-2013, 10:03 AM
Yes it is, but you would be hard pressed to find a FD this clean with these mods that is properly done. The car has almost double the asking price invested in it. Its not easy getting that 2JZ in their and purring like a kitten. You see a lot of FD's on the swap forums that are incomplete.
BTW this car is on ebay now :)

just curious, how does it handle with that beast under the hood. that jz weighs a hell of a lot more than the tiny rotary. does it make it feel noticeably front heavy? either way this thing is absolutely gorgeous and whoever buys it is getting a hell of a deal

Just have to comment on this again!
Don't budge on that asking price. Mine is still in pieces and close to 25k invested in it.
I just can not wait for mine to be done! For anyone wondering about the handling with a 2j, the tech 2 swap kit keeps the 2jz quite a bit higher thus not giving you bump steer issues. They offer a carbon fiber hood that fits right over the 2j as well, doesn't look half bad.

I remember reading that article too. A girl did definitely own it. Well she was standing next to it.....
