My take on AW11's...

These things are awsome. I just got a ride in one from a good friend of mine. He's 18 and his mr2 is bone stock. No supercharger, no intake, no exhaust, nothing. He has old Accord rims, but thats all. No sticky tires.
Anyway, this thing can really handle. He's flying all over our neighbor hood, I'm not really impressed with it's pickup, but I am. But the fact that its taking these turns so perfectly, no loss of control, no nothing..just pure grip. anyway, that's all. Just wanted everyone to know that I love those AW11's..far better than the sw20's (no offence to those or their drivers)

I've come to love the 4AGE. Especially because of its swapability.
My friend owns a boro boro red 86, that I simply am amazed with everytime I drive it. I can't wait to see what it'll do with a 20v bottom end, red top head, and 20v intake with ITBs!

Nothing like being able to swap bottom ends or heads with like 4 different motors, all for relatively cheap.

AW11's look like transformers. In my book, you can't go wrong with a car that looks like an autobot.

I learned to drive a 5 speed on an aw11. Even though it was a pos, it was a fun car nonetheless. And seriously, it was the first car i ever "drifted" in, although at the time i had no idea what drifting was. I just thought it was fun sliding the car around in this big lot by my house. (this was a little over 3 years ago)

You see when it's ugly, your smoky one wheeled donuts just don't pull the same quality of pun-Tang that a typical 86'r is used too. The drop dead sexyness of the trunked 86 is world renowned and it takes only a few minutes to find a ripe cutie to fill that small corrolla passengers seat. The AW11 boys are relegated to the corners of the Kmart parking lot as they watch in envy. So no true PlayR in his Weapon of choice Corrolla would ever be caught dead in a Mr2. "Let them have cake and eat it two" I once heard a Alpha Male 86'er say.

Why swap a 20V Bottom end with a shitty 16V head. Thats like asking for a small tunnel with 5 people in it. Just plain NO.

AW11 = MK1.

AW11 is fucking ugly but I will take one for AUTO X Any day over a GTS.

I have owned a 86 mr2 and 91 mr2, 85-89 are mk1s (aw11) and 91-95 mr2 are mk2s (sw20,sw21, turbo n/a). I have also owned a 4 240s s13s, I am actually looking to trade my 240 for a mk2 mr2, stock handling of mk1 mr2 pwnz 240s hard, braking sucks like a stock 240sx though, braking of a MK2 MR2 is insane though, plus handling is slightly better stock for stock also NA are slightly slower than stock 91-94 s13s.
