well you are in luck... thankfully if im correct on this nissan only produced 13 different keys for the s13 nissan 240sx so what you do is go to a 240 meet and get everyone to try their key on your car.. the one that works is the person you take to make a new copy...... oooooooooor you can get a new key set from nissan itself.. and buy a new ignition part with keys from autozone... your choice bro.

the nissan dealer by me has this huge book that lists all of the key combos for all of the original ignitions/doors based on the number in your glove box (vin too?), ask specifically about the book or else the'll say they dont have it...most of the time they actually dont though lol.. youll need your id and proof of ownership too

Unless you have the key code #, you'll more than likely be SOL. when I broke my M30 key and went to the dealership, they told me they don't keep those on file that date back more than 10yrs; homeboy was the parts dept. manager and couldn't find any other way to get it. Can call up a lock smith to make one for you..it'll cost you a little bit though.

Remove the door lock cylinder and take it to a locksmith. It has the key code number on it and he'll be able to cut one for you, shouldn't cost more than $20-30.

You can do what I did once. and it worked. Take the broken key, super glue it back together, and go to walmart and have them make a copy of it.
worked fine for me. just make sure you super glue it really clean

I can start my car with almost anything near what my key is, Nissan or not. Put a key in there and wiggle it around and I bet it will work. That's why we need alarms..

I went to nissan with my super worn out key, he came out and took the vin number of my car, checked my registration to make sure I actually owned the car and made me 2 brand new keys for like $7 each.

I'm gonna have to agree with this guy, I can start my 240 with my key only half way in there, and Then I can take the key out and it stays started...

Trunk lock be easier, if the glove box is original..could probably use that even. Ign cyl would require drilling and will .destroy it

That sucks, I know the feeling. Do you have the other part to the broken key? I broke my key a while back, went to my local hardware store. Handed him the key In two pieces and he cut the key for me with no problem ( I got 4 made to be safe, lol )

Like I said, superglue the damn key back together and take it to walmart. they make keys. problem solved. they use a Machine that reads the key via lasers.. so it's not gonna fall apart

^ My brother did this recently, he ended up piecing the key back together as best as he could, went to the local ACE Hardware and they were able to cut him an initial key that miraculously worked, so he cut like 3 more lol.

pretty sure the key trick doesent work for s14. none of the 6 different nissan ignition keys i have work in my kouki; but i have several that worked in my s13 ignition. some of the keys i have are from 500k+ km hardbody trucks.

KEY BLANK :: Nissan Parts, NISMO and Nissan Accessories - Courtesyparts.com (http://www.courtesyparts.com/key-blank-p-520098.html)
If you give the dealership your VIN# they should be able to cut you another one.
And for SOHC S13 owners...
