400hp s13 help!!!

I'm new here, so idk if I'm posting in the right spot. I can't use the search button cause I don't have access to a computer, only my iPhone and it don't work
Here's my question....I have a 98 240 stock with an a/t. Just picked up an s13 red top with an m/t. Before I do the swap, I want to build up the engine. I did research and everyone says the s13 red top engine is better for 400hp. So how do I get there? Don't ask me about my budget, it's up there and don't tell me to send it out to a shop, we're doing all the work ourselves. So what I need is a list of parts that would make this engine reach my goal. Turbo upgrades, types of cams, fuel pumps, injectors....that kind of stuff. If someone already did a build like this can you link me to the post or if someone's is really nice and did it, I'd like to pick their brain! Thanks guys, I appreciate it!

I was thinking that, but it wouldn't be cost efficient. The cheapest ls and tranny I could find was $5k, then id still have to build it up and the swap kit and everything would be around $7k. I paid $2k for an engine and tranny and figure another $3k or so I could have it to 400 hopefully. That's with a some used parts, turbo, fmic and such.

Get to a computer, read the 2871r thread, search 400hp, search whatever...it's the only way you're going to learn, get solid information, and potentially realize the fact that 400hp isn't going to happen in your 3000 allowance money budget.

Turbo = 1000
Tune= 500 to 1000
Exhaust to support that power = 500 to 1000
Fueling and Maf = 500 to 1000

Excludes your engine refresh (as at this point in time, a redtop is going to need bearings, rings, and or other junk), headgasket, turbo lines, intercooler, excludes the wiring harness to make it work, excludes your valvetrain, excludes your gauges, excludes your clutch/driveline, excludes the countless other nick nacks that you need to get to it going, let alone keep it in one piece and reliable. Trust me when I say, you should be content with making 300 and keeping the rods in the block if you don't have the money, than half assing a 400whp setup and never having it run right.

Cams 264+
Head work if possible if not its ok aka port job valve springs retainers and such
Mazworx is the shop to go for this
Ported.stock cast manifold bottom mount for reliabilty and the mucho power
Standalone or flash tune from enthalpy or a really good local speed shop that specialize in s chassis
Freddy intake manifold makes life alot easier when working on intake side of car increases flow also
Fmic aka front mount
Exhaust 3+ inch or just 3 inch
Injectors 750+ top feed side feed dont last as long and r harder to service
Really mean clutch for extended life and grabs hard
I recomend hyper twin or single

Then epic burn outs will be given by your right foot when needed

learn to use your phone. you can search zilvia threads through google on your phone. i do it every night in class lol.
look in the gt2871 thread. will have plenty of set ups in there. but it's really just the basics; turbo, ecu, intercooler, boost controller, wideband, usual gauages, exhaust, maf, walbro, injectors, cams or building the head if your not using poncams or s3 or s4's. and obviously you'll need a wheel set up wider than oem to put the power down. contact m.r. performance, or tarmac. both in long island and can help answer questions

After dumping twice as much as the car was purchased new, I decided to move onto a new project. Here I am....and unable to use the search button so I get flamed! Lucky me! ^i was just about to say tarmac is in long island. if you dont know how to research and make a parts list of what could make 400hp in a sr, ka, etc you shouldnt even try to build your auto 240 period. this should have been common knowledge and some sense that if you built a 300whp 4 cyl its not too much of a difference use your brain its a terrible thing to waste.

send your motor to tomei and have them build it for you ^.^.. they can build a 400hp sr easily if money isnt an issue..... to attain your goals you might want to do a rebuild, get new cams, a better turbo hks, tomie makes a new cheaper version of their awesome turbos.. and im taking price cheap, not quality... new valves, a bov by any company usually works, better turbo intake manifold, a turbo timer, boost controller greddy makes em good! but they can be pricey!! and the most important part would vbe a TUNE!!! nslapping parts on a car and not tuning them will kill and grenade your motor...if you can afford it get an aftermarket ecu by AEM or even have one chipped by MINES:naughtyd: and then you will easily attain your power goals... it sounds cliche but always go name brand when building a motor... or do lots of reaserch on brands you may not have heard of..... and if you cant search on zilvia use google! if you type a Q in google about anything sr related it usually directs you to older zilvia posts that you can look into. thats what i do!:whip: to avoid flaming and if i honestly cant find ANYTHING....ill bite the bullet and ask zilvia.. usually if your honest and say youve searched EVERYWHERE youll get some good response.. just search search search! everyone on this forum has been in your shoes man..(well almost everyone thats been on here for a while) we feel for you bro..in the end when you do things by your own knowledge and hard work you feel much better about the end result.:bow:

another question that might want to be adressed is why exactly you want 400hp on an sr? at that power youll have to keep high maintinence after almost every month (a rebuild) and if its not for track itll never get put to use... my old s13 blacktop rocked 290hp and i loved smashing in that car.. at that power your safe on almost all your components(the oem ones) and you can smoke almost any car on the road..and itll get sideways waaaay easy with a welded, vlsd or 2 way lsd...

10:1 most of your 400whp searching (if you even do any) will come back to my posts, or things I have done.
