I want to get a set of DG-5s for my S14. Where can I get the best price on them right now? So far, I've only found them on www.rhdjapan.com and on Apexi, Blitz, HKS, Nismo, Greddy, Rays and more JDM Parts direct from Japan - Nengun Performance (http://www.nengun.com)
They are cheaper on rhdjapan.
Is there anywhere better that I haven't found yet?

the U.S. distributer is no longer in business so all the stock was sold off. i bought the last set for S14 and i even bought extra rear struts with it. it's a great setup but i think you'll only find used sets on here.

Besides being jdm cool, is there a reason you must get DG-5?

Have yet to hear anybody bitch or complain about them...everybody who has them swears they're some of the best coilovers they've ever used.

People usually dont use a lot of different coilovers. When you start with ebay quality coilovers, anything after that will be the best coilover ever used.
I think the problem with these is maintenance. Every time i hear about jap coilovers, they are good but they need to be sent to Japan for maintenance, which ends up quite pricey. I dont know if it is true for the dg5, but that would be something worth inquiring.

I have only heard good things about DG-5, but not a whole lot of people over here are running them.
The two places you found them at have the highest markup out of almost any JDM importer out there, so I wouldn't go through either of them.
I would get in touch with someone over there and have them get them for you if contacting the company is out of the question (they don't have anyone who speaks english).
Ex: Streeter got me some products from KidsHeart.

i agree.
i've started with KONI yellow + ground control setup, then onto GP Sports G6, Kei Office XR, Apex N1 and last but not least DG-5 and it seems to be my favorite so far.
i can probably say i like KW's better but they just dont go as low and doesn't look good on my car.

Yeah, I wasn't trying to start another coilover debate thread, just asking where to get ahold of DG-5s. I am interested in KW, but the Club Sports are very pricey, especially with tophats... DG-5 aren't cheap, but a much better deal.
Also, many people are successful with them and say they love how they perform, whether they received them for free/discounted or not.
And no, I don't care about being slammed. I like cars lowered moderately, stopped short of where they would negatively affect performance. Actually, I tend to think slammed street cars are stupid as hell, because it's not practical having problems at every speed bump and dip you come to when you're an adult and have places to be and shit to do.
I just want something great for car control and general all purpose tossing the car around (auto-x, drifting, barrel setups, etc), and the DG-5 are much more accessible price-wise than the KW competition stuff.
Not really interested in any other JDM coilovers. Have heard bad/mediocre things about pretty much all of them. Not sure about PBM/Fortune Auto/Koni/etc....

You could hit up Jesse Streeter, he can probably buy you a set in Japan and ship them over for a reasonable cost.

Yes, I agree with you. But what I said is based on people who actually have been driving their cars hard and have a wide array of experience on suspension...Dousan above is the first person that popped in my head.
As far as maintenance...you dont always have to ship them back to Japan. We got shops that can rebuild most coilovers like Feals or Fortune Autos in the states nowadays so its not a big issue.
