hahahah try $100 per wheel. Powdercoating is expensive, atleast around here. If you only have $100 to spend better either spraypaint them yourself or make real good friends with a guy at a bodyshop.

i sprayed mine black.... they look fine. just used Krylon enamel.... i've seen guys have a lot of success with a little Rustoleum :D
just put on multiple layers. like, 5-7. and let 'em dry up nice.

the streaking on the wheels is from me spraying them w/ tire shine... it's not the paint itself.

the reason i ask is because i really like a dark bronze wheel, and i was wanting to get some kosei 16x8.5 and they only come in silver... but i might just go with the fn01r-c 17x8 in bronze...i dunno

I've had 2 sets of wheels powdercoated in the past. This place seems cheap, but nonetheless, charge $25/wheel, so yeah, $100 for a set. Both of these sets happened to be 18's too. I've done the spraypainting thing once also, and it's not a bad route if you take your time.

I actually spoke to my boy who works and used to own his own body shop. He said use a good car paint and clear it to give it a good shine and it will hold up for a long time. He has an '01 Mustang w/ the Bullit wheels and the gunmetal color on those are paint so yeah painting works out well. I wanna paint my RH's black in the middle with the lip polished.

Do the wheels need to be sanded or anything before you spray paint them?

i think youd want to scuff em up a bit yeah....and where did i hear to let them soak in oven cleaner or something like that....

That Dupli Color stuff works great. If you fuck it up just spray it again.

depends...
if you pay a paint shop, you'll have a nicer paint finish but its not as durable
if you powdercoat them, it takes longer and will probably run you more.. but the finish is extremely durable.
just depends what you want to do. the inexpensive route would be duplicolor my friend.

hey BUSTEDS13, is your car really colored that or is it a photoshop? I've been looking for a color to paint my bike and I like something like that? Do you have a paint code or name?
