Does anybody know where this part came from?
I found it in my oil pan yesturday, while disassembling my motor to install an aftermarket headgasket. It looks like it a part for the oil system, maybe used with a banjo fitting. It has a hole going across width ways, and one lenght ways but it does go all the way through...both holes are connected.
Tommorow i plan on pulling the motor out of the car and taking off the top half of the oil pan.

not a piston oil squirter, i ve seen them, is it solid or does it move? cause i kinda looks like part of a timing chain tensioner, like it fell out of the main part, kind look like the ram part

oh, so that's where I left my 1" piece of miscellaneous metal.
All I can say is go over your block before running it again.

it may be from the tensioner mechanism from the ka, if thats what you have, My fsm is from the ca18 which uses a tensioner like the ones used to tension the belts on the outside of the engine. and I couldnt find anything like that in the oil pan area or anything, so im guessing that it is from the tensioner on the ka motors. that is of course if yours is a ka.

why don't you just go to a nissan dealership and ask some of the techs there...
don't ask the service manager, they don't know jack (most of the time)

is there a hole on one end, cause when i was taking mine apart tonight that looks liek the tensioner piston,,,,,,, thats my opinion still, its the only thing i found in mine that would resemble that, from a ka24de.....

I have a SR...I guess the red icon in the title is hard to see.
Anyway, i figured out what it is...It's the oil squirter for the timing chain. it's located right above the crank gear and is supposed to be pressed into the block. I don't know why but it fell out and broke off one tooth on my crank gear. I think it might have also made my timing chain jump two teeth, which could be the reason why my cars been running like sh*t. (hard cold start, high idle 2500 rpm, and loss of power after 5k)
I decide to JB weld it so that it doesn't happen again
Oil squirter = Red
missing tooth = green
