I prefer Oreilly because it seems everything I purchase is always cheaper there. Let me know what you prefer. Autozone, Oreilly, Advance Auto, Napa. Let us know why you prefer it. Maybe itll help us change our insight on things!

I prefer Advanced....initially bc they are right next to my house. But now, with all the online coupons (use store pickup option), you hardly have to pay full retail.
Autozone for anything FelPro...cheapest price.
Pepboys for higher quality waterpumps, alternators and starters.

Depends on what I'm buying. For hoses, relays, vacuum lines, and important parts I usually can find at NAPA. For oils, coolants, misc additives I go to autozone or o'reilleys. I can usually find AN fittings at O'reilleys if I need them asap, otherwise I go to summitracing. I haven't really bought anything from advanced auto other than a timing chain kit for my ka24e many years ago since a friend of mine was working there.
For anything else I try to find it online for cheaper prices before going in-store.

Star auto parts here in riverside (I'm pretty sure there's a few other ones). Most the employees know halfway what I'm talking about when I ask for uncommon stuff and u can somewhat haggle pricing, even tho it's usually the cheapest

It really depends on the location for me. Back in the day, I used to go to Carquest before they closed the local location. Now its Oriellys, and autozone for me. Don't go to Napa too much because its not that close .
Advanced Auto because i always find online coupons to bring the price down.

^ same here. we also have global, amigos and clark's (only if im desperate) but for me its usually kragen because im friends with the manager and get discounts here and there and can return anything at any time lol he knows his employees can be idiots so im allowed to go in the back and find what i need if he isnt there.

Depends on who has the deals going on when it comes to the big three but when I want harder to find stuff I go to Kohlweiss in Redwood City.

Autozone is pretty close and most of the workers there own modified cars so they know what theyre talking about, and if the store doesnt have something I need, the can tell me where to get it.

all of them have military discount which is awesome, but pepboys has the best rewards program. spend $100, get a $10 gift cert. autozone has one but you have to spend over $20 a purchase to earn points.
before i found out about the pepboys award program, it was shucks/kragen/oreilly for a while

If its the autozone in norco I agree. I used to work there. Store manager is a douche. Commercial manager knows his shit. The Oreillys right there is cool too. The commercial manager has a pretty nice ms3 and knows a lot. I used to work at hot rods too haha

Yea, autozone guy explained to me the program wrong. He said "you get a point for every $20 you spend and can cash out when you have 5 points." I was like sweet, every $100 I spend I'll get $20 gift card.
So I go buy a battery a few days later expecting to get $20 giftcard I can use on some oil and manager tells me, "no you get 1 point for every purchase over $20. You get 1 point for this." Still bought it though since my battery wasn't holding charge and I needed it.
Still, some rewards are better than nothing even though there are fewer autozones than oreillys and they are more spread out. I don't even know where a local pepboys is.

Normally Rock Auto, or advance because they're a bit less painful to deal with at check out than autozone. The nearest o'Riley's isn't close enough for it to be worth it to me.
But looking at oil prices the other day I need to start price checking advance / vatozone and go based on cost since oil / brake fluid / garage supplies are the majority of what I buy in person.

rock auto is an awesome source for parts, but unless i buy in bulk, the cost of the part + shipping doesnt always beat local parts stores.
also, walmart has the best mobil 1 prices ive seen. between 24 and 26

Rockauto when I have time to wait for something, if not advanced. Great thing with advanced is that I purchase everything online for pickup. Doing that I use the online coupons to save 20% always if not more depending how much I spend, the only thing that sucks is the part has to be in stock if not u have to pay for shipping to your house which then Rockauto is better.
Also when it comes to oil changes i use advance also the bad thing is you cant use codes for that, but you still get good dealls like- A syn. Oil 5qt with a kn filter, bosch, or mobil 1 for 34 bucks. the filter alone cost around 12 bucks lol

Yeah, it always helps to shop multiple vendors. For reducing the Rock Auto shipping costs, I love Rock Auto's 'alternate parts' option. I'll normally pick the 3 or 4 cheapest options for the part I want, and it sorts out which ones are cheapest factoring shipping, and consolidating that shipping into as few source warehouses as possible. Truly fantastic feature. It also tends to ship from closer facilities to me when I do that.
MOST of what I buy from them is brake rotors, it might be cheaper for me to get warrantied rotors from Advance / AutoZone, but they may give me shit if they find out I'm tracking them.
Still, two rotors shipped for less than the cost of one from Advance is hard to turn down. Same thing with a new clutch master and slave for $28 shipped.

Carquest, because I work there. Also Carquest can get parts through World Pac. World Pac offers a lot of OE parts such as you would get from the dealership without buying from the dealership. Not many locations is the downside.
